If you're blowing out spark with that small of a gap your coils are probably getting weak. Consider getting a new set (not used) or a HKS DLi.

8k will get you a decent supra to start out with. Honestly if you're going to sink money into one, get one you want and not some junker shell for a few hundred bucks cause its cheap. You'll end up hating it and selling it again.

Instead of the combustion happening in the engine, timing is retarded and it happens in the manifold. So the heat and pressure generated isn't converted to mechanical energy to drive the engine (making power) but instead to spool up the turbo.

If you're going to do it, IMO get really close gearing. Pair them with a 3.56 rear diff and you'll be good to go. The stock gearing is pretty wide.

^^ That's just the front part. The housing is different between 1jz and 2jz. You need to replace the whole unit. Its ~ $120 through the dealer.

I though having that rear setup (no wood, just carpet over the spare etc) would be better, but after having my celicas (same setup, just carpet) its rather annoying. Yea, full boost will probably be ~ 5k rpms (18 psi). Streetable is a relative term, whats streetable to me maybe not be the same as your tolerance level. Remember also the 2jz has a different displacement then the 1jz, and that aids in spooling the turbo.

Dont half ass the build or else itll cost more in the end, or more time without the car. If you dont have the funds to begin with or the time to wait and do it right, do not do it at all.

ground speed left? you have an ABS sensor (or aftermarket) wired into the ecu for front wheel speed (and traction control I'm assuming?) need to work on that boost control ;)

I have a PDF of the engine for the 1jz. It has all the engine singals, and a few of the others. I'm sure its not every pin, but will be at least 95% of them I'm guessing. I'll post it when I get home. is your name really teal? if not thats pretty lame (singing with your alias), lol.
