    Body work and paint assistance

I'm sure some of you here by now have already read the well-known "tremclad roll on paint" thing on the mopart site. If you haven't (cuz you didn't bother reading it, haven't heard of it, or you're new to this forum...

another WTF are these cables thread

Yeah yeah yeah....... why didn't I use the other thread? Cuz I know people were going to think that it was over with (hehe). Anyhow, help me out here a bit, and this time I didn't forget to upload the pics first. I need to know wtf are these cables for (again, and these are stock ones)...

    Wtf is this cable?

In the attachments, notice the cable that is spliced into 2. The original one is the cable that goes to the starter motor. Half way, it gets divided to another cable that goes through the firewall, as seen in another of the pictures. Now, the way it's all cut up (I covered it with red tape...

Write up and a pic-upload question

I finally convinced myself on doing a write up on how I'm doing the work on my car. I think it'd be nice to do one in a way the "average Joe" (or college student with no deep pockets) could consider doing it. So if any admins see this, could I get the permission to do one? Aside from...

    Water pump, 60mm's

This one is a fast one. What's the thickness on the 60mm bolts for the water pump? I noticed when I bought them brand new that they weren't as thin as the rest.

    Spark plugs, I'm stuck :(

I went yesterday to get the new spark plugs for my car. I followed instructions just like I found on the search here: copper tipped (not gonna stay stock), NGK or Densos, with 4 sparks. Problem is that I can't find any shop (will be trying a speed shop today) that sells them. They only have...

    Seat belt problem

I took out the damn seat belts about........... 2 years ago, which was when I started working on the interiors. Now this week, when I'm finally putting everything back in, I noticed that the driver's side belt won't retract so well. In fact, last night I had to pull it back manually...

So I went to Pep Boys yesterday.....

Actually, I went yesterday and Monday. Now I know what everyone's thinking, "Why the hell would you go there anyways?". First off, I needed a torque wrench fast and cheap, which I got (and it actually works). Second, and now on to the funny part, I was looking for the gommets...

    Ignition and timing

Got a couple of questions. Was putting the timing back on this weekend and I kept having the same problem each day. I couldn't get the timing marks from the sprockets to the back plate PERFECTLY alined. Still, I managed to get the teeth with the marks at least half touching the line that goes...

    Camshaft timing

I'm quite sure that they are correctly timed, since I followed the timing marks and everything, but just to make sure........ The lobes at the #1 piston location, are they pointing where they are supposed to be pointing at?

    Oil cooler location

I checked in the Hayne's manual, and I couldn't find it anywhere at all. Can anyone show me a picture, or tell me the exact location of where the oil cooler originally goes bolted on to? I really can't seem to find the stock spot. I've found a few spots, but something either gets in the way...

    Steering wheel.... whoops!

Well, I removed my cruise control LOOOONG ago, as there's really not that many places here in PR where I would be able to use it (and I really don't trust it anyhow). Aside from that, the little control jig that goes at the bottom of the steering wheel was sort of broken, so I threw that away...

    Seat Upholstery

Well, I've been looking sadly at my seats ever since I took them out, and the thought of trying to re-upholster them myself has been tempting me strongly. Only thing is, I have no idea how to do this. Is there anyone around here that has tried it (including the shaping of the internal foam)...

    Interiors, would like your opinions!

Well, among all the stressful moments I have had, I have finally managed to work some more time on the interiors. There's still a few more things missing, but I'll get to them as soon as I see how much $$$ I'll have left after buying weezl's targa brace (stopped working to pay full attention to...

    Flush headlights (hear me out)

Okay so yeah, another one that wants flush headlights (no, I don't want the damn NSX flip ups or nothing like that, I want a style similar to those that LamaRossa used). I know I could just PM lama in a second and get it done with but I want to check if anyone else knew anything as well...

    Engine code switch

Was reading up a bit on some other threads, and came upon the idea of rigging up a switch to make getting engine codes easier. Instead of going around with a end-stripped wire.... or whatever you can find available at the time. So, has anyone else done this? I know it's a pretty basic...

    NA vs Turbo differential, LSD?

Was reading in a thread posted not too long about using the NA 4.30 rear gear on a turbo model. Thought I'd post this on a different thread in case someone used the search and wanted a quick answer. Anyhow, first question (easy one): are all the differentials on the NA's LSD or are some of...

    Fan clutch

Hey guys, finally had the time to put my question up. It's another quick one (I hope). Some time ago, while looking for electric fans, I came upon a long forgotten link where I remember reading that we could swap the Toyota Tacoma's or Tundra's fan clutch onto our own cars and they would work...

    Brakes...... i know another one

First, sorry to make another brake post, but I haven't found what I was looking for at all with google or here in the forums. Well, I did find a few things on google, but not enough. A few days ago, I was looking through my magazines out of pure boredom, and found one article in which...

    Oil temperature

Well, IJ keeps telling me I shouldn't be too cheap and get a thermostat for the new oil relocation kit I want to get for my '88. Thing is, I got to thinking (wow).... over here in PR, it's just a joke when we say it's cold. I think the lowest temperature PR has ever seen in it's history, in...
