The engine wasn't rebuilt, but yea I agree the best method for engine break in is WOT with some boost to seat the rings.
But its a used engine, and good to go. Run it like you're going to drive it. Just before you go beat the piss out of it makes sure theres no leaks and everything is good...
T88 isn't that big. yea it wont hit till probably 5500 or so (unless its a GT47-88 then 6000-6500). I suspect a bad wastegate (do you hear it opening?) if not a bad turbo.

92s came with black seats, and yea 91 and grey.. I know its the same as 89, not sure on the others (dont think they changed it though 86.5-91 like you said.
91 and 92 came with shadow grey interior through (all the plastics & dash are darker grey).
IIRC the leather color from 89-91 are the same, and I assume the 87s are as well.. I think the cloth is slightly different 91+.
87 Seats have a different design though.

If you had to leave your car idling rich with 440 injectors something is wrong with the car, and I bet its not as well grounded as you think it is. That or check the power feed to the fusebox. I've seen those wires break the wire strands from the battery not being bolted in and moving around...
