Sounds to me like the slide stop spring broke, letting the slide stop out, and then possibly the rear slide/breech/striker plate loose. How the firing pin came out of the slide is beyond me. Post pics!

Sounds to me like a spring broke some where, and one part lead to another. I doubt the firing pin could have escaped, but I also doubt its reusable.... Its gunsmith time!

The k9 basically has no recoil LOL. Its smooth - not sharp recoil if any. It doesn't shoot like a polymer gun. Its soft and forgiving, with almost "no brainer" aiming. Some times it seems that you just have to point the thing down range and it will hit the target... Ive never shot the Taurus...
