I agree with you about Jarco. I bought my clip from them back in 2006 and they started the car b4 it was cut in Japan. Even had a video of it running along with the vin numbers.I also asked them to perform compression and leak down test and email me the result b4 I gave them my cc.
Just read this, looks like it's either tuned for other than stock or it is defective. You should be able to get a refund since you bought it from ebay via their buyers protection. Good luck.
I will say it again if you want to go fast from the start 4.30 will get you there. If you do a lot of highway driving I will get a 3.73. Personally, I like my 4.30. With my T61 turbo I can really punch it like mad max ... :naughty:

I'm in the process of tuning mine as well with a safc.
1-my afr at cruising speed (2800-3200) is between 14.8-15.5. That's normal IIRC, it varies due to throttle control and ecu adjusting it.
2-if you pull too much fuel safc will adjust timing and get very dangerous, some people lilke to get it...
check for vacuum leaks, my 1j idled at 1500rpm one day and couldn't figured out for a day till i found one of the vacuum hose was disconnected and after I zip tie the hose the idle went back to normal.
