Stupid Question time - Driving from Canada to US

Most of you are too young to remember the Smog Impact fee I guess. As a student I lived in Pasadena CA for 3 years with a vehicle registered in B.C. Never got pulled over. There are many cars on the road here from out of state, and you won' get hassled unless you are attracting attention for...

    Lower control arm Q

Usually the ears bend when the cam bolts are seized in the bushings and someone trys to turn them. I would first check that the bolts can be removed before I spent effort on fixing the ears. If they are seized there are plenty of threads here about how to rectify the nightmare.

How many pounds of boost can you run on a (mostly) stock 7M-GTE SAFELY?

Head studs give better tension uniformity than bolts, that is a fact. Whenever you dig into an engineering problem, there will be questions that cannot be fully answered and decisions that will be compromises. Just a fact of life.

    What is this?

EGR is off at idle, and WOT.

How many pounds of boost can you run on a (mostly) stock 7M-GTE SAFELY?

Yeah, I've often thought that. By the way stock head bolts tensile strength=160,550 PSI (measured by Reg Reimer years ago) and ARPs are 190,000 PSI, so as JJ says, very little difference to the point where it doesn't matter.

How many pounds of boost can you run on a (mostly) stock 7M-GTE SAFELY?

A good reason not to go too crazy on head bolt torque is that the head isn't that strong.... http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?683040-finally-an-answer-to-the-7m-head-gasket-issue

How many pounds of boost can you run on a (mostly) stock 7M-GTE SAFELY?

ARP specs for head BOLTS are 75 ft lbs as show below. Note the Aluminum value is used for this application.

The electronics are the same, only the housing is different. How do you know its not the wiring?

Domestic Flights in the US (CA) - Options?

Yup, the only reason not to choose the above would be that you have a bunch of frequent flyer miles that you can transfer to a US partner airline, or if you happen to have elevated status on a particular US airline, which seems unlikely in this case.

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

Usually you flush the fluid after changing the pads. Be careful when you push the caliper pistons in that the fluid doesn't overflow in the master cylinder reservoir.

    Let me see your trunks!

Would you happen to know if the Murano subwoofer fits in the stock MK3 temp spare ? Looks like you have a 17in spare in there now. The newer Murano sub with dual drivers is using a T165/90-D18 temp spare, which is quite a bit bigger than the MK3 spare. I went ahead and ordered an 06 Murano sub...

#04, this spare tire subwoofer is really interesting. How does it sound to you? Does it have a builtin amp? Do you have any further details on what mods you made to the Supra spare tire nut/mount hardware?

has anyone replaced their wiper arms with something more modern?

The mk2 Supra wipers retract. Always thought the mk3 wipers were a downgrade from the mk2.
