so i recently got a msd blaster 2 coil for my 90 n/a i pulled off the stock one and swapped them out. when i put the msd one on the car won't start now. i checked and there is no spark coming out of the coil. i got curious and started checking some stuff and well there is power going into the...
i don't know either, but i did notice something and it was weird. but when i took a grounded wire to the body and touched it to the negative on the coil it sparked so i don't know if that was supposed to happen but it did. any ideas on that or is it wierd?
did you ever hear of the ballast resistor. i saw it in the msd instuctions. i went ahead and got one but its going to take a few days to get to me so i'm gonna try that and hopefully it works for me. but other than that i have no ideas. i mean the ignitor is putting out power to it so i'm lost.
Nick M what you mean and/or how do you do this? secondly if running a stock ignitor do you need the ballast resistor thing?
i got the msd blaster 2 today and wired it up like ya'll said and nothing no spark. but i tested and there is power going in but nothing is coming out. i hope i...
its just like ForcedTorque said. i don't know if everybody has to but i had to remove the rear seat bottom and the backs. to make it easier i also removed all the bolts and stuff for the bottom bracket of the seat back.
i got an almost complete n/a engine if anybody wants it. one of the pistons is bad and the head is trash but the crank and block and all that is still good. also i got a jdm throttle body and other random parts. i'm only like 10 miles form danville, va if you don't wnat to pay for shipping...
but to answer your question i haven't seen one and i'm still looking for one but the major companies like weapon r and aem and all those don't make them and its up to you whether you what to do the K&N FIPK or jsut make your own.
i agree with toy fanatic78. it seems that this site is all about turbo. if you don't have a turbo then there are going to be a lot of people that will keep telling you to turbo. but make sure you do the maintance part first. after that is out of the way do the simple stuff like intake...
aight thanks so much now i know what i'm going to do in the next couple of days which do ya'll suggest high vibration, or all the other different types. i noticed that toy fanatic78 you got a high vibration coil in your pics so is there any types to stay away from or any that ya'll recommend?
can you post the color code for ma and a pic of your set up for me and all to see i like to get ideas from others. and if its in someone's car i know that it works.
i made my own just from parts i had from previous cars i owned. it aint true cold air and its looks kinda funny but it works for me and i like it cause its mine but i can tell you all the parts in it and where i got them from if you want.
awe some thanks guys but which would be better using the stock igniter or just hooking it staight up. i'm worried about reliablity more than anything right now a i like the fact that its easier to get an aftermarket one than to get a stock one at the local autoparts store.
so i was wondering if there was a way to wire up a msd proformance coil instead of the stock ingintor coil. i mean if you take 4 screws off the top of the stock coil you get two peices and the top is the coil it slef and it has a postive and a megative. to me that is all you need for a...
i'm pretty sure thats what it is because when i jumpered it it started right up. it still idles rough but i gotta finish my vacuum lines. but do you know of any relays or anything like that which would cause my fuel gauge to not read correctly. i know i got atleast half a tank and the gauge...
thank you so much i figured i could jumper it but i had no idea how many or which ones and i kinda don't want to mess anything else up i gotta get my ride up and running.
if its the same as the stock 7m in the jap supras then you have to decide if you want the egr system if you do its alot more into to it but if your getting a short block you shouldn't have to much to worry about. just make sure that you put the motor mounts in the right spot. the oil pan is...
the blue one is probaly a vsv but i don't remember any red ones when i wired mine back up. as for the starting problem are you sure you got spark if so then check the timing and fuel system relays/fuses.
