If you go look at it, I'd do a compression test, leak down test and check under the oil fill cap for a mixture of oil and water. You can also check the turbo for any excessive play. Check for codes while you're there also.

As for the intercooler from driftmotion, I've been running mine for about four years now and I've made 616rwhp with it. I also have their universal ic piping kit. It will work fine for your setup. I don't know about the sc300 ecu, but the AEM is a good unit if you can afford it.
