is just the ecu the makes the newer engine make more hp and tq
that's what i want to know, because i have a 89+ engine wired into my 87 ecu does that mean am making less power
or the power is in the engine.?

is getting a wide band. a good investment my car is for the most part stock but i will be upgrading so should i get a wide band. my wife says she will buy it for me or should i get some thing else with the money.
i did the wire is connected. i was reading a post were it said that the jdm sending unit can fry you gauge if that's the case my gauge is shot. are there any after market gauge that will work with the stock sending unit.

Motor is installed and runs great very quite no knocking ,tapping ust the sweet click of the injectors.
now i have a question on up shift from 1st to 2nd the exhaust pops real loud.

having a vac leak will cause to car to run lean and it may even miss fire. about the converter a lean condition may cause a problem but i have not heard of it mealting one down, ther must have been some other problem running rich for a short time will cause melt down in the converter.
