    Best production year MkIII Supra

My 88 has the birdcage light, thought it was a radar alarm saying 'you're about to be jailed' the first time I saw it. 89+ taillights look good when the center matches, I've yet to find the correct match for mine so no update yet.

Finally got the new rims -PICS-

I like em' they do have that track look like the old Minolta/Toms ma70s. Brian

A friend was there with me using a digi cam on movie mode. It actually made for pretty decent video just have to figure the mounting location (I'm using a plain c-clamp mount from ebay on the rear STB, no roll bar yet) The Tacoma (98') does surprisingly well towing but I accelerate easy and...

Thanks, but this isn't racing yet, just HPDE. It'll be much faster when against the clock and on race tires. This is the training you go through to get experience for racing/time trials. I'm digging that spoiler turbogate, is that the whaletail style one? Guru, How about the Trackdaze event...

    Who is a RIM HOR!!

Boris, once you figure out the fender clearance and can put some miles on them you'll like them. I run a narrow tire/wheel combo (not the 45 deg. angle like yours) in 235/255 on 9&10 and they're very nice to control in a slide compared to a more square fitment. My +35 and 17" version doesn't...

    BorHor's Makeover - Project Sideways

Wow, and I thought my 17x9/10 +35's of those looked good. Maybe I should be looking at 18's for the second set.

Wait, what game has VIR on it? I've gotta check that out. I've been jealous of West Coasters being able to drive a mk3 on Laguna Seca on GT4. As far as racing, with NASA you'll need to work through the DE (High Performance Driver education) levels and then go through competition school for...

Here's a link to some pics from the weekend: http://www.europrints.us/08vir03/hpde2/171/index.htm Lots of roll: http://www.europrints.us/08vir03/hpde2/171/_11x6069.htm Wonder if I'd be pulling the inside rear on stickier tires? http://www.europrints.us/08vir03/hpde2/171/_11x4886.htm

    Learning to Drive, Reccomendations?

If you're learning why would you be embarassed? Ok, the guys in the $75k+ cars getting passed by the low buck folks do have some pride issues but they haven't learned how to really drive that high buck car. I pointed a Miata by this weekend in the first session (moved up to a faster group) he...

Here's some vid of this weekend at VIR. This was my first event in group 2 and the pace is deffinitely faster. There are a lot of folks on race rubber in this group but the Supra did well and the instructor recommended I move to race tires soon. Here's a couple vids: Session 2...

    Supra Road Racing

There are drilled rotors for the mk3 but they're likely done after the disk is produced, not during casting like you mentioned. Really this came about as an effort of 'scuffing' the pads to reduce the layer of gas built up during use. Evidently modern pads don't gas like this anymore and the...

You don't need the big brakes Grim, just the right pads. I was getting mad at Miatas and Minis for braking so early last time :) (I'm on street tires)

    Supra Road Racing

No ABS? Props to you. I did that once when I had messed up the sensor replacing bearings, almost slid off the track in the rain on the first lap :) It's much easier to recover when going just over the threshold with ABS but a lot of folks don't like it.

    Supra Road Racing

Glad to hear you had fun but no dry sessions, that's no good. You'll really like driving out there in the dry but driving in the rain makes to focus on the line to go fast. You must have been doing pretty well to hit speeds like that in the rain (since you can't accelerate as hard/early exiting...

    Richmond, VA?? Who's here?

Sethron, what about the other car? Are you going to bring it to VA soon? Good luck with the slave cyl. search Scott, I've had a backorder with Toyota for a while now. I'm using the old one and just patched the boot until one comes in.

    Richmond, VA?? Who's here?

I recently had a parts car hauled off that I'd had for years wish I'd know earlier. What kind of parts are you looking to make?

    Track vids- VIR 11/19/07

Thanks guys, should be much better once I figure out why I'm only catching people in turns. Just doesn't pull that well on straights but does in low gears. I think the old engine is just tired.

Don't follow what's in that thread, that's guy's just a Newbie :) Van, Any pics of the DS loop you have? I'm looking to do some sort of safety item like that as well. If you're going to be driving on track (you can't jump into road racing, you'll need a license and prepped car which requires...

    Track vids- VIR 11/19/07

I figured you weren't there this weekend but I didn't really look around North paddock much. Patriot went fairly well, placed 13/77 but I didn't run the Azenis and saw some more time from talking to folks and watching vids. I'll be in group 2 in March along with a friend's STi. Here's some...
