    7mgte engine noise

The shaft is what the pulley is bolted to. Check the TSRM in the above sticky section. It will show you, and describe to you what tests to do. There are multiple write ups on modding the oil pump. I'm not a guru by any means, but I think I've read this is a common problem with the 7m's.

    7MGTE camshaft seal problems

Just my two cents but you could clean it all off and add some oil dye to your oil. It might help you pinpoint exactly where it's leaking.

    Yet another smoking issue thread

Update. The turbo is the reason my car is smoking. It still smokes even after I rebuilt the turbo. Not sure at this point if there is a crack in the center section I just didn't get back together quite right. I will tear the turbo down again this weekend to find out.

    Alternator????

Do you have a voltmeter of your own? If not buy one you, you can test all these components plus every electrical part on your car and diagnose the problem yourself. If you don't, for the time being you can feel the cables by hand. Put your fingers on the battery cables (NOT THE TERMINALS OR...

Fresh rebuilding searching for idle need help

Yes, check your tps as well as every other connector to make sure they are plugged in. Does it die when you hit the gas? If so, I would check your maf. Also check vacuum lines, a vacuum leak will make it idle funny.

    A/f questions with mods

No offense but I don't think you read the whole description because the service manual tells you that there is a connector you must jump in order to get the check engine light to flash the codes to you. Read the entire procedure maybe have it opened up on your phone when you are working on the...

    Yet another smoking issue thread

Ok long story short, tore down my turbo this past weekend. Exhaust side was wet and covered in crap. During disassembly I noticed that there was a part that is in the rebuild kit that completely missing from my turbo. Parts explosions of the ct26 show that this "extra part" is supposed to be...

    Couple of questions

I used a wrench to hold the cams. I can't remember now if it was a 22 or a 24 mm wrench but a crescent should fit.

    Yet another smoking issue thread

Well I checked my oil return line and found no kinks. I think I'm going to remove the turbo later today. From my experience cars I've worked on that are leaking coolant into the combustion chambers smoke all the time. Not to mention the smoke coming out of the tailpipe smells like burning...
