    Supra fly-by's + FD (tekdeus & upgradedsupra)

Brad, mind if I post the pic I took of your car facing down the hill, with Duane's in the background? Or are they already up somewhere? (Plate numbers are photoshopped out.) Doran

    BATTLE VERSION adjustable arms

I'm considering making a set of these for my own cars. I'm a machinist and have access to an engineer who is a car guy at work. His recommendations: First was use chrome-moly (4130 or 4140) tubing. However I'm not a welder and asked about aluminum as an alternative. His recommendation was to...

Pics of my new wheels, CCW Classics! :)

In person the rims seem to look bigger thanks to the lip. And up close you can see the other details like the ARP bolts and the machining around the spokes. Very nice.

    Value of Supras

Yeah, they're all over here, too. I moved here 2 and a half years ago and saw my first Skyline. I was all "Holy crap! A Skyline!" They were still rare then. Now I see at least 2-3 different RHD's a day, lots of Mitsu GTO, Skylines, those weird little diesel vans, a couple Kei cars (Suzuki...

    Value of Supras

Yeah, I don't think the US is being flooded with RHD JDM cars either. Here, it's a quick buck. All these cars are supposed to be imported for personal use (I think) and a limit of like 2 or 3 per year can be sold, yet used car dealers are bringing in container after container. I think the...

    swaybars:st or tanabe?

I emailed Tanabe and they got back to me with these specs: Front: 30.4mm outer diameter; 22.8mm inner diameter Rear: 25.4mm outer diameter; 19mm inner diameter Useful?

    Road Racing MKIII?

Is that response for me? What I meant was that my Targa doesn't feel as stiff as my old hardtop (no bracing on either one) over bumps/rough road. I was hoping front and rear bracing would help that.

    jdm spec sjz70 vrs mr2

3S-GTE is a very strong motor, but it sounds like the Supra fits your criteria better. Another option (please don't flame for this) is the GA70. You sound like maybe the JDM/RHD is pretty important, more than performance. The 1G-GTE made around 210 hp, twin turbo 2.0 inline 6. They were...

    Value of Supras

On a bit of a side note, but price-related, in Canada the Mk4 Supra's will be eligible for the 15 year import exception soon. I've already seen two JDM RHD twin turbos for sale in the $22000 range. This will probably affect the JZA70 prices here, too. I've seen a couple JZA70's selling for...

    Road Racing MKIII?

Wouldn't they help a Targa, though? I can feel the difference in stiffness between my old '87 hardtop and my current '90 targa.

    little cartoon cars?

MK3FTMFW and/or RazoE, Do I need permission to use/modify these? If so, from who? (I have a '90 white on white Turbo Targa with white sawblades) Thanks, Dim

    swaybars:st or tanabe?

http://www.tanabe-usa.com/stabilizers/default.asp Tanabe's are hollow chrome-moly and diameter is bigger than ST bars. 30.4mm front Tanabe vs 28mm front ST. 25.4mm rear Tanabe vs 24mm rear ST. Stiffness of the bar is based on hollow/solid and diameter, but diameter has bigger effect...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Thanks, Tim. I'll have a look at that. I think I am already close to the Hummer in ride height, my car's bone stock. :ugh:

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Eventually, maybe ($$$:( ). But I don't know what will fit, or even what the trade offs are for sidewall thickness, weight, etc... In the example I quoted, a 285/30R18 on an 18" x 10" rim has a diameter pretty close to stock, but is way wider. So if the offset is the same as the stock wheel...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

I understand that offset and diameter aren't dependent on each other. What I was getting at is if you keep the stock diameter (choosing appropriate, width, aspect ratio and rim diameter), could we get a table up for what offset is needed for what width to fit, with the assumption that diameter...

    Coilover terminology.

I can help on this one. First, damper is just a more correct term for what we commonly call a shock. They are the same. And yes, they are a combined spring and damper unit that is usually, at the least, ride-height adjustable.
