Yeah I had a leak similar to that except it was on a track day and oil was everywhere but mainly around the water pump, power steering pump area. It turned out to be the cam seals but they ended the day at the track.
It happens to my car a lot but thats because I'm running an open downpipe. It usually happens when I either shift really hard or bounce it off the rev limiter.

I had the oval pip out the side on my car but since changing some stuff it no longer fits so we have been running an open downpipe. It was pretty cool for a little while but I'm going to go with a normal exhaust out the back when the cars running again.

The diff was welded after we put good tires on the car and everything works quite well. From my experience is a very easy setup to drive at the limit. (by the way I'm talking about the same car as Wiisass)
