    The Official Crysis Thread

Man, after watching those videos...I'm going to have to find a way to get my compy upgraded. This game looks totally incredible. Any reccomendations on vid cards? Is AGP too weak at this point to be worth it? Any good CPU/Mobo/GFX combinations anyone's got that they absolutely love? Thanks...

    The Official Crysis Thread

FPS on PC >>>>> FPS on console Except for the fact that my PC is too much of a POS to play any FPSs made within the last 3-5 years. I'd probably still be a PC gamer if my Supra and school weren't such financial leeches. I hate having expensive hobbies...

Tell us a bit about yourself... Random Facts.

Name's Rob 6'5", 230ish lbs. Left handed. Bored out of my mind now that school's out. Grew up in Atlanta, moved to Florida in '03. Currently in Tampa. Had my Supra since September 9, 2001. Replaced the head gasket twice since then, in just over 60k miles. Love working on the car myself--I...

    No Boost

A slipping clutch will indeed limit your boost; I'd get that taken care of asap. I let my old clutch get so bad that I could essentially leave it in 1st...while stopped...and it'd slip so bad the engine would still barely be idling. Initially it did what you said though; I'd feel it slip in...

    Roush style exhaust

Check this place out: http://www.drgas.com/store/home.php?cat=8 Lots of square/oval tubing and clearanced tubing for tight spots...may come in handy with what you're trying to do. I've often thought about doing a single low-profile oval straight pipe exhaust out underneath the passenger's...

Are you a Veggy? or not?

Meat is so good, I could never go vegetarian. I'm on a rather strict diet right now (no salt, no gluten, etc but meat with every meal) and I lost about 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks alone, and I feel great. In my mind the only reason to go veggie would be for ethical reasons, i.e. to boycott the...

    ***The Burgandy Supras Thread***

These are old pics but still some of my favorites: Up on the school's parking deck at sunset. At home after a good washing.

one less idiot off the road.

A roll cage without a helmet and a harness can be more dangerous than no cage at all, especially on the street. If you increase the rigidity of the car without giving crash energy someplace to go...bad news bears. Something's gotta absorb the energy. I hate seeing pictures like that; it...

    Pics of painted lips

I like how it's black through and through. That way I can drag it on every parking lot entrance/speed bump/small animal that I want to, and I don't have to worry about it looking like crap. To me it'd be like that car with the white interior accents...white? Are you kidding me? It'd look...

Whistle or Squeal when hood is down

Does the whistle go WOO WOO? *ducks* Does it do it cold, warm or both? And seriously, how loud of a whistle is it? -If it's coming from around the power brake booster area, check for cracked vacuum hoses coming from the intake mani to the brake booster. Also, make sure the check valve is...

Lowering the MkIII, but keeping stock feel

Stock = 4x4 Stock w/ blown shocks = Buick 4x4 kthxbye! Seriously though, I can tell you what not to get if you want a stock feel. H&R springs w/ Koni Yellows are great if you don't have to worry about ground clearance or bumpy roads...but if you do, you'll probably need to see your...

Questions on fabbing custom under cover

Yeah, originally I just wanted to find a good used one, but shipping on an under cover would be simply rapacious. May as well just walk in to a stealership and buy a new one. Either way though, that's a lot of money; more than I can spend on an undercover. I've only got about $20 and 2...

    Anyone seen this one around?

My favorite part is the vinyl lettering on the timing cover... "It's a Monster" The white interior accents make me shudder. I can't imagine trying to keep it looking nice. I'm pretty sure that's why I was never a fan of show-car type custom stuff on the MKIII--It's just too impractical for me.

Questions on fabbing custom under cover

A couple years ago I lost my engine under cover on the highway, and ever since I've been thinking of a way to make a better than stock replacement. I've started on a replacement made out of 1/8" sheet aluminum that connects to the front bumper cover using the same bolt pattern as the front lip...

    New rims

I love the color of the wheels...They seem to match the trim perfectly in the pics. But I've never seen them in a 44mm offset. Is that a Japanese thing? Or more specifically, would they be off a narrow bodied JDM Supra? The five-spokes on my '91 are 37mm offset.

    big problem!

It does kinda sound like water pump seizure, but he stated that the alt light came on and his power steering falied as well, leading me to believe that the problem is not at the water pump pulley, but at the crank pulley. If it was just the water pump, the water pump belt would squeal hideously...

    big problem!

yeah, a simplified way of thinking about it would be thinking about an inner metal disk that bolts to the crank, surrounded by a concentric rubber layer, like a cylindrical rubber sleeve, and around that is the metal layer that the pulleys ride on. You look at it and feel it and you don't...

    big problem!

Crank pully/harmonic balancer is a single piece design, but is held together with a rubber piece that over time has been documented to slip (giving false timing readings) or fail. turbotrev, why would this be from a bhg? I mean, the overheating could have caused a bhg, since the water pump...

    big problem!

Hmm, so the belts aren't turning when the engine is running...if your belts are in good shape and tight, check your crank pulley and the crank bolt that holds it on (with the car off). Make sure the bolt is tight! If it is, there could be trouble. It's never happened to me, but from what I...

Omg liek, post your current favorite song.

current favorite driving songs: The Cult - Fire Woman New Order - Crystal Cream v The Hoxtons - Sunshine of Your Love VHS or Beta - Night on Fire Since my upstairs neighbors are angry toolbags, the only place I can completely enjoy my music is in my car.
