I get (typically) 17ish miles / gal around town, and 22 - 23 miles / gal on the freeway. I'm not running anything too crazy over stock. 200 miles out of a tank seems awefully low. Hope it helps.
Ugh. I'm in the middle of a rebuild now, and was wondering if I should keep running my current oil pump (125K), buy a new one, or buy a re-man.
You have just motivated me to suck it up, save $193.66 more and buy a brand new one from Toyota!
Sorry about the carnage - That's heart breaking!
There are a couple of things to consider before jumping to the bhg conclusion... What could cause your low vacuum? It could be (among other things):
- Boost gauge doesn't read properly?
- What elevation are you at? High elev. will see lower vac readings.
- How is your gauge plumbed to...
Present to myself: New Titan 1.4mm MHG.... On backorder. It should be here to install between x-mas and new years. Until then - she sits in parts in the garage.
Scared the piss out of myself about three weeks ago.
Here's the set-up: I've got the car in the garage, with the front wheels on ramps that have a little flat (maybe slight dish for the wheels) on the top. It makes it easy on the back to not have to bend over so far for everything. It's a...
Dude - but it's got [I]custom paint[I]. Custom meaning nowhere else in Chicago are you going to find two different non-matching colors of red like that. That's a steal!
Dumbo -
I had the same thing happen after a long road trip. I'm running MAFT-Pro...
I'm not entirely sure what caused it, but I think it was too much heat. My O2 sensor got "nuked" with the AZ summer heat, and it was accordingly no longer in calibration. I recalibrated my sensor, and...
Those wheels/tires are a total mismatch to the body kit - They're way to small (in width and diameter) and cheapish looking to go with the gawdy flavor of the rest of the car. And I don't like how far out to the side that front bumper extends.
A+ for the color, though. The paint looks sharp.
Wideband reading different than your narrow band... Have you done a free air calibration with you WB recently? Is the WB really close to the turbo - WB's sometimes are finicky about being hot (close to the turbo).
Also, are you monitering Vf with your MAFT-Pro? When you're pulling/adding...
Too many variables to be able to say how much HP you're putting down. Condition, tune, luck :sarcasm:, etc... Only one way to find out, right? Dyno time!
I've got one - I put a cutting wheel on my angle grinder and cut the back of my heat shield off to fit over it. That was quick, easy, and no big deal.
As far as the quality goes, it wasn't worth the hassle. The flange was so warped that when I put it on the first time, I could see a visible...
Where does the fan go? Is that a race-only car with no radiator fan? Doesn't seem like there's enough room between the engine and the radiator to route piping like that without changing a lot of things...
I feel your pain... I just went through the same dilemma in deciding which gasket set to order. Conclusion I came to: If I'm going to put all that time and energy into ripping parts out, cleaning them well, and putting new gaskets on, I'll be pissed if the cheap ones leak and I have to do it...
Hmmm... Gotta love contradictory information:

I used to run my MAFT-PRO on just the WB with no NB at all. It ran like snot on a cold morning up top, but was a little bit rough around town...
I like where you're head is at... I think it would be a great idea. One benefit you forgot about is the latent cooling effect that running E85 would bring. If you are putting more fuel into the motor, you are also evaporating more mass. And during that evaporation, you get phase-change...
And the front "clips" should be spring loaded if they're in good shape. Dip the front in and push forward a bit so the back will fall into place, and then the springs would push back for it to "hold on". If you can wiggle it, you'll scratch it up. Make sure it's snug... Good luck.
