What are your favorite things about MKIII Supras?

There is a ton to love, but for me I really enjoy that green Toyota night dash glow. I drove AW11 MR2s in college and having a "colorful" reminder of this is quite nice. I also love the look of the stock 7M-GTE. I know it is insane design, but the pipe with 3000 on it, then the word...

Rear shock "stopper" part interchangability? (48341-14030 and 48341-14040

Hmm, I had tried a bit of lubrication to no avail. These things were just too tight... I was worried I might break something if I kept at it when I gave up and went back to the originals. Both versions of the new rears were perfect and slid right on, not sure why they small holed the fronts :(

Rear shock "stopper" part interchangability? (48341-14030 and 48341-14040

How is this for irony? As far as I am concerned the rear bump stops we have been talking about should have been superceded to the newer part number of 48341-14040. The rubber baffle is awesome and the bump stop itself appears no different. In the case of the bump stops for the front of...

    The Small Questions Thread

Has anyone ever found a thread or a guide on reinstalling the front lip (aka front spoiler, cover) on to an 89+ car? I removed mine two years ago as the stays that hold it in place were bent and damaged, and the wretched mechanics of the PO had not replaced all the nuts and bolts. I am...

    The Small Questions Thread

From all the images I have seen the 86.5-88 fog lamps are a bit wider and more trapezoidal than the 89-92 ones. Toyota also lists different part numbers for them: _________86.5 - 88_________89-92 Left_____81221-14130____81221-14131 Right____81211-14130____81211-14131 So it would seem...

    The Small Questions Thread

I am no expert on wheels by any means, but I tried my luck looking for pictures in Japan. After looking at a lot of auctions and wheels I noted that I never saw any text on the rear of the spokes on the official AVS Model 5s. Instead, the size and model number were always hidden in divots on...

    Guv'na's Tavern

A couple of my drifter co-workers were there on practice day and got to meet the actor who played Han in the Fast and the Furious movies. Sounds like it was a good time!

my suspension is pissing me off

I started a new thread here asking about the two Toyota parts: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?219570-Rear-shock-quot-stopper-quot-part-interchangability-(48341-14030-and-48341-14040&p=2054585#post2054585 Today I got both 48341-14030 and 48341-14040 and posted the results of a...

Rear shock "stopper" part interchangability? (48341-14030 and 48341-14040

Ok, so I got the bump stops today! Here are some comparison pictures: In these images the 91-92 part 48341-14040 is on the left and the 86.5-90 part 48341-14030 is on the right. The 86.5-90 part just has that little cup, but the 91-92 has a nice rubber baffle! Otherwise, the bump stop...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I did a search using the parts catalogs at Amayama and pulled up the only listing they had for a Twin Turbo R JZA70. http://toyota.epc-data.com/supra/jza70/30045/body/5102/51441/ Part number came up the with the same 51441-14110, so it seems like it should work... Might be best to check...

    The Small Questions Thread

Pulled out the upper rear garnish trim today and found that one of the protrusions on the back that a clip goes on was broken off :( Happily the broken bit was not lost or damaged any further, so I would like to try a repair :) Any recommendations on a glue to get this back together? Never...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I was in the same boat, my car never came with it either. The original owner was not a mechanic at all, so I assume some shop tossed it out one day : ( Part number is 51441-14110. Toyota Online Parts dot com only charges $147 for the part, but their shipping is just over $50. But if you live...

    Hybrid's 1990 MA70 Turbo Preservation

Very nice work, you are doing all the things I have dreamed of doing to mine. (So close to just buying that HKS exhaust.) Did you happen to replace the turbo elbow and down pipe as well? I have the BIC DDP, but I don't know if I can ever bring myself to install as I want to stay as stock...

Been wanting one of these for a long time! Ohio magazine used for scale and to remind me where I need to get back to. Oddly enough the "splash shield" came a week before the 13 bolts needed to put it on :P

Living with the Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Convertor

Thanks to all for the info, especially the detailed post by Pi. From reading various posts I had come to believe that the RT models were CARB/ARB certified, but it sounds like I was wrong. (Their website claims better than EPA required performance, but they never mention CARB or ARB.) Looks...

Started reading through your build thread looking for the cat, but got very distracted with the sweet pics of your kitchen remodel. Love the backsplash! But back on topic, what brand cat did you get?

Anyone know how to get ahold of Tokico Illumina II TEMS shocks?

Thanks Vega, I excitedly began the change out with the rears and found that I need new bump stops. Oh well, I have waited 2 years, what is another two weeks. I did a fun test with the old shocks and the new. I timed how long it took for the piston to fully extend from full compression and it...
