Went to race in the 24hrs of Lemons(not Le Mons) and while checking out the competition I came across a flat black mk3 so I decided to take a look at the surely doomed 7m but came to find a vvti 1jzgte sittin in the sucker.
for all of you who have never heard of the 24hrs of lemons...
check the crank position sensor. you can unplug it right behind the alternator and ohm it out with your dvom.
check the pins in the connectors that go into the ECU bcuz they get loose from repeated removal/install.
last thing i can think of would be to check the compression if nothing...
i was wondering if anyone knew where this ground location is or if anyone knows where to find a "Component Locator?" for a jza70 1jzgte? im not looking for a wiring diagram because it does not tell me where on the car the ground actually is.
go with the 2j bro, it makes life soooo much easier. i just finished a 1j swap and i ran into so many issues that wouldn't have been nearly as hard to deal with if i had a 2j. since the 1j was not ever offered here and the 2j was, it makes life so much easier when you need replacement parts.
im looking for someone with a running 1jzgte swap. i need to find out if my ECU is bad. so i need to find someone that can let me try my ECU in their car OR let me try their ECU in my car. either way doesnt matter to me! i just really need to do this before i go buy another ECU and waste my money
im not getting an igf signal to my computer. im not sure if its in the computer or another part like the coils or ignitor. ive had the computer "rebuilt" and they say its good. the coils are all OHMing out the same and i have 2 ignitors, oh and i have perfect continuity in the wiring.

im having issues with my 89 mkiii alarm going off when i unlock my door. my power lock mechanism is inop so when i unlock the doors with the key and open it, the alarm goes off.
i dont really care about the alarm so i was wondering if i took the module for the alarm out would it affect...
