    Resistance when turning over engine.

Could be. Why did the engine need a rebuild in the first place?

Finally fixed all my problems!!! No more issues

This is how I feel right now. I used to frown upon the "bought not built" crowd, but I want to join that crowd now. My MKIII isn't my daily by no means, but even my daily is getting old and I'm afraid it might give up the ghost one of these days. I'm tired of something always going wrong with...

What do I do? Salvaged car in CA?? Insurance company never sent paperwork...

My Mazda Protégé was totaled out by the insurance company. I opted to buy it back. They gave me a check minus the buy back value. Nobody else gave me any other documentation on the title status of this car. I've been registering it like this for the last 5 years. I really don't know if it's a...

    BC Cam issue

Yeah, but it does suck when you follow the directions per TSRM and it snaps. If I did all I could correctly on my part, then I'd be on the phone calling BC. No company puts out 100% top quality parts. There will be some defects, casting flaws, forging imperfections from time to time. Just...

    BC Cam issue

I've seen camshafts break like this, and it's usually due to user error. Improper removal or installation.

Old guy with a great old ride--but you knew that part!

Dude, you're not an old man. You know we don't lower our cars. It's too hard for us to get in and out of.

Valve seal replacement without removing the head

Do not tap them in. You should be putting the same buckets in the same bore. Make sure the bore & buckets are clean, and oiled. If the bucket is not dropping in right away keep rotating it and try to push it in with just your fingers. It will eventually drop in. I had a couple of stubborn ones...

Valve seal replacement without removing the head

I used a pair of needle nose. I grabbed the seal, and began twisting left and right before pulling up on it. I did have a couple separate, but managed to get all of it out easy enough.
