overheating but no signs of BHG

in addition to the thermostat, check for a plugged rad, our cars are notorious for getting their rads filled with crap. it's probally not the thermostat, as they're designed to fail open, but it's always a good idea to change it whenever you can, since they're a 15-20$ part. It's not smart...

    help

good call on the tranny cooler, but the autobox in the supra is actually surprisingly strong. With good service, and a transmission cooler, I've heard stories of 300RWHP going through it without a problem, which would lead me to believe it will handle higher (but don't quote me on any of this...

all the good supras ar NA

N/As aren't difficult to turbo, but you do need quite a few pieces of equipment to do it. By the time you end up doing the swap, you'll probally have spent enough money to buy a decent quality turbo MkIII. For a full GE to GTE swap, you need engine, ecu, wiring harness, boost gauge, and a...

    help

when you say "muffler" do you mean just a muffler, or any other part of the exhaust system? if the car only has 57,000km total (is this verifiable, or could the odo be tampered with?) it doesn't need a new gasket, and you're not going to need a metal head gasket unless you crank the boost on...

Heard the turbo spool up for the first time

hehehe! I remember my first boost experience in a supra, I was test driving a '91t auto with semi-thrashed interior and exterior, but with 10k miles on rebuilt engine and turbo. I put my foot down, car hit 2500RPM, and there was the little jet engine noise, and it felt like the hand of god...

    Can She handle it?

I learned manual on a 1952 Dodge M37, with a small block chevy, and chevy 3-on-the-floor with low range. the shifter throw between gears was about 18" and the clutch travel to the engagement point was 14-16. The "armstrong" steering on it required both hands, and it had nothing for brakes...
