Around 30 thou machining total to the block & head, standard Toyota gasket with ARP studs.
With your cam settings you have 26 degrees overlap & would be loosing quite a bit of top end horsepower.
Yes tried a few combinations & basically I loose horsepower in the mid/top end if the intake is...
OK finally got the car dyno tuned.:icon_bigg
7MGTE in a auto MX83 Cressida
BC264 cams
high flow CT26
15psi max boost
10" D @750rpm, 15" N @1060rpm
starts spooling around 2800, 10psi by 3700 & 15 by 4700
Cams set at -1 I & +1 E resulting in 32 degrees overlap.
What is the most amount of cam degrees that you have either retarded/advanced your camshafts?
I am currently running +2.5 (I) & +3.5 (E) on the BC264's.
Yes it certainly is dissapointing to send of something that fits well only to get it back out of alignment & made even worse by having to pay someone for the frustration.
My upgraded CT lasted less than a week so I know how you feel.:3d_frown:
Personally I would just extend the holes in the...
Need to do another 300km before a proper tune is done but at the moment running around with these Microtech settings on 430cc injectors, 10 psi max boost & 4,880 rev cut:
IDLE:
Vacuum 0" 5" 10" 15" 20" 25" 30"
3.38 2.81 1.86 1.24 1.14...
Yes smooth out any high points in the combustion chamber.
Just use your finger to feel your way around as it is a better guide than your eyes.
Some chambers will be worse than others so try to get them basically the same shape.
You will be rewarded by higher detonation tolerance & slightly...
Yes sounds like your CPS is 180 degrees out.
Make sure the crank & cams are both at TDC & insert the CPS with the notch & hole lined up.
The crank makes two revolutions for every one the cams make.
Any logical reason why the dipstick would be showing the oil level around an inch above maximum when the sump has been drained?:3d_frown:
Dont trust the damn thing & I measure 4.2l before replacing the oil.
Not mine, found on eBay.

Yes unfortunately another story of most mechanics popular saying "close enough is good enough" or "its all the same stuff just has a different label" when working on another persons car.
I dont trust ANYONE, regardless of their reputation, & always try to check as much as possible for work done...
Seems strange to me as well thats why I thaught of putting up the figures.
From what little I understand about turbo engines I thaught it should be reducing timing by around 2 degrees per 1 psi boost increase?
