There’s only one wire connecting to the top of the sender unit, may be worth checking. The sender unit screws into the bock, not sure of the size though.

You sure its not the oil seal in the cam sensor, that’s in the same location.

Good point I’m sure these are cast pistons, the ad states “ Great Alternative to Expensive Forged Units ” The other manufacture JIS I've mailed several times for more tech data but had no response.

I know you said it was on the drivers side, but have you checked the turbo to exhaust manifold, the four nuts sometimes work loose and the exhaust gases escaping make a screaming noise.
