Soarer 1JZ into MKIII wiring issues

A way to tell which jz you have, is to look at your fan. Is it a hydrofan or clutch?

    MK3_4ME's Purple Nurple '86.5 1JZ-GTE Supra Build

Ah. Ok. I'll check it, to see if I've got it. Thanks, man.

    MK3_4ME's Purple Nurple '86.5 1JZ-GTE Supra Build

Ok. Cool. I have one more question, if you don't mind. On this vacuum diagram, what is the sensor that the 2 vac lines connect to (number 17630)? I was looking at my motor, & don't see anything with the 2 nipples. The only thing toward the front that has 2 of those, is the fpr.

    MK3_4ME's Purple Nurple '86.5 1JZ-GTE Supra Build

Where can I get one? I don't think driftmotion carries them.

    MK3_4ME's Purple Nurple '86.5 1JZ-GTE Supra Build

So I was trying to do as much of my vacuum line routing as I could, today. Saw that I need to buy a few new lines, which I expected. One thing I noticed on the diagram, is that one of the individual lines goes out of the plenum, & to the back of the firewall, into some square sensor. I have no...

    1JZ swap in progress

$3800?! Damn. Wish mine was that cheap. I've already passed $5k, & I haven't even installed my motor, yet.

    MK3_4ME's Purple Nurple '86.5 1JZ-GTE Supra Build

Sup fellas (And random "female" who may visit)! Been in the RSX community since '06. Bought the car brand new, threw on some bolts ons, & called it a day. A few years later, I craved more power, so I boosted it. Had some oil pressure issues for a while, but now she's good to go. As she sits...

Pictures of something a little different...

Sad to see such a sexy car being parted out. With that being said, there's a part that you put in your oil pan to prevent starvation. I think it's just called a baffle, but IDK. Since I'm currently building my supra to drift like yours, I'd like to get that piece (amongst others that you...

Obsolete MKIII parts; are there any?...yet?

Looks like it's time for me to raid my local junkyard. A few weeks ago, they had 3 pre-89 supras, all w/ good tail lights, side moldings, rear glass, etc. The only thing that was bad on one of them was the compressor blades on the CT26 was chewed to hell.

Red VS Yellow RonnieK subframe bushings

Does a bear shit in the woods? Does a zebra have stripes? Can Opra steal your soul? Yes. Reds are a HUGE difference, compared to stock. IIRC, the reds that I bought from Ronnie have a durometer of 95. The yellows, I believe were 75. Either way, the reds are just below getting solid bushings.

    subframe bushing Delete?

This. Toe is the quickest way to wear your tires. But camber also wears whatever contact patch you have, down, pretty fast. Instead of the entire tread taking the punishment of rolling, sliding, braking friction, etc., only a small edge of the tire takes that abuse.

    1JZ Swap Parts Into a MKIII - List -

Not 100% on what you're asking, but if you buy the pre-89 engine brackets, you can use your stock subframe just fine. Hope that helps. ---------- Post added at 07:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:45 AM ---------- TealSupra, as far as the low pressure p/s lines go, I believe you said...

Intake/exhaust mods and turbo failure danger

The only part of upgrading to a single is the lack of quality exhaust manifolds. A good PTE turbo will run you around $1400. If you already have a boost controller, solenoid, etc., then you can get the manifold & turbo, tune it to 10-11 psi, & won't have to worry about fuel upgrades. EDIT: Or...

    1JZ Vac Diagram (offical??)

That's good news. I'm not using the charcoal canister, or the heater vac. I'm sure I'll use one of those for the boost solenoid, but don't know what to do with the other one.

    Pretty cool drift video

Pretty cool video. Makes me want to get my Supra build done even faster, so I can start doing this.

    1JZ Vac Diagram (offical??)

Interested, as well. I'm going to be running the same setup. No charcoal canister, aeromotive FPR kit. But I'm running stock twins (for now).

    Project 2.5GT!

Good to see. I'm in the middle of my 1j swap, & was wanting to put something (like a vacuum block) in that corner. Thanks for the input.

    Project 2.5GT!

awesome build, man. What did you do with the charcoal canister? It looks like you got rid of it, but I've read that's bad for the pressure in the fuel tank. Did you just relocate it?

    1JZ swap in progress

Nice. Good to see another 1j being put to good use. I'm in the middle of my conversion, as well. Went from a 7m-ge to the 1jz, like you. I'm still having trouble figuring out where & how I'm going to mount my p/s reservoir, & ignitor. GL with the build.

Did not think it was this hard!!

Whatever you do. DO NOT order from Tiger Japanese!!!!!!! I (and many others) have done this, & have been screwed over. They send you the wrong parts, & you'll be lucky if they're in decent condition. I ordered (and have my invoice papers to prove it) a rear sump motor, tranny, ECU, & harness...
