Removing Stock 2JZ Head Bolts - "10mm bi hexagon wrench" ?

I think you missed some of the thread. I understand the number system, but not why my head bolts are 10mm and others are 12mm.

building the 7m or go 2jz for 600whp fun street car!

I have a .68 exhaust housing on a 6266 with 264's on a 2J and I expect it to choke out up top, I'm not looking for the full potential of that turbo yet. I want an early spool with full boost under 4k for track racing this year. Next year with higher compression I will get a bigger AR and take...

Removing Stock 2JZ Head Bolts - "10mm bi hexagon wrench" ?

Here is the bolt on the 10 Here's a 10mm socket on it Here is the 10 on the left that fits and the 12 on the right that's too big. I have no idea why it's different.

Removing Stock 2JZ Head Bolts - "10mm bi hexagon wrench" ?

After reading this I thought maybe I was wrong but I went out and test fit the 10mm 6 point to the bolt and it was tight and a 10mm socket slips tight on the 10mm 6 point so I don't know what the hell is going on with my shit haha. Andy, maybe this is a difference or is your motor an aristo too???

Removing Stock 2JZ Head Bolts - "10mm bi hexagon wrench" ?

That's strange, I used a 10mm 6 point and it fits snug and worked great. I had to get duralast from autozone because everywhere else I checked did not have much for metric. My engine is an aristo 2J but I can't imagine the head bolts would be any different. I wasn't to worried about...

    Just Another Lame 2J Swap

Congrats on getting it ton with a 12 ton! We pushed the 20 ton press to it's limits on a couple of gears, nothing a little heat couldn't fix. I'm glad to hear that the new pieces and rebuild will get it shifting smooth. It feels a lot better already with it still sitting on the floor.

It's definitely not a job for someone without a basic understand of mechanics, but if you have a couple different sized pullers, the tsrm and a shop press it's definitely doable. The detent ball and pill system took awhile to figure out. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

That budget doesn't account for wheels, BBK, tires, racing seats or tuning.

I haven't gotten the motor in the car yet, that's next week. Then I will know for sure where fitment issues are going to be. I know I have to move my fuse box and relocate my battery, I can't imagine the intake hitting the brake booster but I'll find out for sure soon haha. I still have my...

I appreciate the tips, I am not going to use the stock radiator, I will look at your thread for the info. If it's an issue I will just keep the stock one, mine works fine. The water pump issue I found out through Aaron before your thread was up :( I'm sure there will be more things that...

We will definitely be making some trips out that way this summer. Do you ever go to Automotion in the Dells? haha i estimated about a thousand low. Originally I wasn't going to do anything with the heads but I got greedy and did it. I also didn't account for a new water pump, ls400 fan...
