Ok will do...annoyig though I lost a whole evening tonite over two missing bolts I could have had the trans on and the engine back in the car almost.
While we are on the subject. There are two plates with the 6 holes. The flat one goes against the crank and the other one with the rounded...
Apparently I have lost two of my flywheel bolts. Can I just get the same size high strength bolt at Lowes? Or is there something special about them that I needto go to the dealer for?
I am curious too. I am finishing up assembly of my 7M tonite with a new clutch package and trans install. It all should go in the car tommorow. I hope all goes well but if not I will be watching this thread
Well here is the disc.
But I realised last night that it appears to be bent in the middle. One side of the center is sticking out alot further then the other. I am sure its not suppose to be like this.
Is there a way you can tell if a clutch is still in good useable condition. The PO said before the engine died he put a new clutch in the car. I am almost done assembling this JDM engine I got. I have a new throw out bearing for it but my well is running dry and if this clutch is ok I would like...
I got this pipe off the 7M I dont remember where it goes and the manual is not telling. Anyone recognize it and let me know where it goes on the 7M please
ahhhh so as long a you know your TDC #1 with all the markers lined up you can insert the distributor then? I guess they have that procedure in there in case you can not read the marks anymore due to dirt or whatever reason.
Reassembling my JDM 7M I have got #1 at TDC and I assume I have my cam pulley marks lined up with the notches as per the factory manual. Now maybe since my Distributor was already out this section may not apply. Page IG-17 describes how to remove the distributor. Why would you set at TDC then...
I need to stop by the hardware store and get a hex key big enough to put those 4 cap screw things back in the head. They are the big ones that are down the center of the spark plug valley of the 7M. I guess they hold down the cover the plug wires go into.
Also there is one with a hole in the...
WooHoo!!! Working at the pawn shop is great. Some ex mechanic just brought in and sold us a 250 ft lb Cornwell Tourqe wrench!! Right on time sir!! LOL I will be borrowing that one for sure!!!
I have the engine on the stand and also secured to the rafters of my garage with a come-a-long and...
I am assembling the 7M on an engine stand. There is no way I will be able to tighten it like the manual says too. I am thinking a length of flat bar stock and drill it out and bolt it to the back of the crank with the flywheel bolts and then when the metal bar stops the crank from turning...
I noticed that too. I posted there a few times then came here after a Supra owner who also is on the MR2OC pointed me to this site and I have stayed ever since. There is alot of big talk and other crap thrown back and forth there. I dont see the point in it. This site is much more helpful! You...
You should have asked him to show you how he thinks that motor was worth a grand and why a bunch of little discs and two gears make up 5% of the engines value. LOL
My friend that works at a Toyota dealership got me an OEM HG for my 7M at a good discount. He lives in Texas though and had to mail it to me. USPS was not kind to it on its journey to Virginia. The box took a good hit and was bent. The HG looks ok viewing it from the top but it has a slight...
