High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Yeah the supra motor came up real nice. It is what i would call my "hot street" motor with 268 cams and mid 11:1 CR, springs, oil mods, 0.40 over, balanced, blueprinted etc, new everything. It is a great combo and drives really well on both street and track. Extremely responsive, happy to lug up...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Ive done a bit of work on this but not enough Getting ready to mock it all up and see if the new valve combo works. Pistons and rods are now in for the final time (hopefully!!!). I recut the intake seats to suit the stock valves, also bought the margin thickness of the valve head down...

    400hp or bust

The surface only NEEDS to be good where the gasket seals around the bores and water jackets/oil galleries. Lay the hg over and if you have pitting in those areas then get it decked again, enough to give your desired squish/comp with a 2mm gasket. If the surface is VERY GOOD (ie no pitting at...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

And then all this stuff turned up... Proper Japanese lpg injectors (not the solenoid type), good for 60hp/cyl. I hope to mount these in the stock rail. Lpg converter/regulator to suit vapor injection. Rated at 320hp Filters for both liquid & vapor phases Rail pressure & temp sender Aside from...

7MGTE Ignitor Operation & Alternative Ignition Coils

Ive been trying to use the 7m-gte ignitor in a non-standard setup recently and thought i would post up my observations: Engine is a warm 7m-ge with Ford dumb COPs and MS3x megasquirt management running in Waste COP mode. I wired this up with the 7mgte ignitor as thats what came in the car...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Thanks for those links rollus, some really good reading in there. I saw the word 'shaftless' which really got my brain ticking, and ive nearly worked out how to package it into my design :-) The double barrel design is nice. Ive not seen that before, only singles. I may do a barrel throttle one...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Lol, no thanks. I dont copy other people's products. If i were to make a barrel throttle it would be my own design. I think the part-throttle driveability problems associated with slide throttles can be overcome easy enough. In fact with the right profile on the throttle plate i bet you could...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Yeah those hasselgren barrel throttles are pretty sweet. I actually came up with a nice design for a slide throttle before i went back to the idea of butterflies. The current design im working with has the trumpet built into the throttle body rather than a separate piece. There would probably be...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

I hadnt planned on adding injector bungs, but anything is possible! How come you want them in the throttles? Before or after the butterfly? Ps: real men use gantry injection :-)

    Ridiculous 1000HP 7M Street MK3 Build

With megasquirt it doesnt matter where you put the missing tooth. I just set one up that was 300 deg BTDC as thats where i already had the pickup etc mounted and it works fine. Hopefully your ecu can do the same.

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Na, im calling that one a win. The head is already ported to suit the OS valves, so i dont think it will flow any less. If anything there is now slightly less restriction at the end of the same size hole. Just means i have to recut the seats and dont have a lot of room for the 60 degree cut...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Small update, i put some stock valves in the head and mocked it up with a 1.2mm gasket to check for interference. it all clears (just) looks like this is the way forward, hopefully i can get more work done on it soon.

BosoMKII's project! 56k cut your head off

Subaru upper engine cleaner. Use as per directions. Has unstuck a valve for me in the past, backed up by compression tests. Try not to breathe in the smoke.

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Thanks rollus. Im think of grinding the valve OD down, adding a large chamfer, cutting the valve seats in the head deeper, or a combination of all 3 to get some clearance. Nick i dont have access to a flowbench unfortunately however i do have plans to build one. I also have almost every casting...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Still no progress on this one, but ive got a heap of motors/heads to build for customers atm so i made up a new tool for measuring valve clearance The indicator pointer sits on the lobe, legs grab hold of the bucket and are attached to the indicator body. You zero the indicator, lift the...

BosoMKII's project! 56k cut your head off

Have you had a timing light on it? Sounds like you may need to wind some more advance into it....

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

No this would be for my customer's turbo build who is shooting for 1000+ rwhp. Girdle is certainly not necessary for my NA build. Probably not even 100% necessary for the turbo build either, but hey... overkill is the name of the game here :-)

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

Would definitely require line boring/line honing. If you ever want to lock up a crankshaft, simply turn one cap around and torque it down, or swap it with another cap from the same block. Crank will be locked up tight (great for removing stubborn gallery plugs). Dont ever mix or swap caps from...

High compression high RPM 7M-GE build

No progress on this recently, been snowed under with work. Have another 2x 7m-ge's to build for customers this month so mine may be sitting a little while longer I was having some evil thoughts last night about my customer's big hp turbo build, and was wondering if anybody makes a 1 piece crank...

    '87 Drag Car 7M awesomeness

Nice work! Ive wanted to make a water outlet for a while now but havent been bothered yet. Looks like you are running EWP or a dry block? (No thermostat or bypass etc) Arent those cam gears alloy? How are you going to trigger the pickup?
