Oh cool, I'll check that out right now. I've got mine all designed and I have everything I need in the welding lab I go to school at. I just need time to fab and weld it all up. All my time is dedicated to getting certified at the moment :)
So I hear that 2.5 to 2.75" is the best size for exhaust piping on a N/A.
So is that assuming that the piping is mandrel bent? What if it's just bent with a regular pipe bender? The inside of the piping's diameter is smaller at the bends right? So would it be a better idea to go with 3" piping...
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up not getting it because the guy already sold it. This thread was useful though, for the future if I find another one. I can go through most of this info when considering buying another 7MGE or 7MGTE for that matter.
I'm fairly new to working on cars and I...
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been around....mostly cos I had to sell my Supra lol....
Anyways I found a 7M engine for $200 and I'm wondering if you guys would think it's a good idea? I just want it as a long term project over the weekends for maybe a year or so...
I got it figured out. Just thought I'd post it in case anyone ever searches for the same problem in the future.
My dad told me to take off the gas cap and try starting it up again, and it started up the first time. I guess there was a vacuum in the tank and that helped it by removing the cap...
I haven't put that stuff in my fuel tank yet. I'm planning on putting it in there tomorrow though. Hopefully it'll work out, but it's gonna be snowing tomorrow so I'm not sure. I'll let you guys know how it works out though.
Okay I'll be sure to check my TPS sensor tomorrow. When the car starts up and dies, I go from about 10V starting out, to around 12 to 14V when it dies.
My car is going up to 2500 - 3000 RPM's when I start it. Then it slowly drops and dies.
The car was running fine. Then the alternator went bad. I changed it out and got a new battery (cos it died in some bad area and got stolen that night) and when I went to start the car, it started doing...
Just thought I'd mention it here since you guys are from the Northwest. It's in the for sale section. I need to sell it so I can finally get a SC300. I found one that's pretty cheap. So yea I gotta sell the Supra and my Ford Ranger in order to buy it....lame though cos I love my Supra...I wish I...
My welding instructor in college has a 89 5spd NA Supra :) and I have a 88 Auto NA Supra.
The funny thing is that the instructor didn't really like me until I bought the Supra hahahaha.
Yea it's getting frusterating. Every time I fix something than something else breaks. I'm probably gonna sell the Supra when this gets fixed. I love it, but I can't put up with the constant problems.
Let me know if you get any additional info :)
k I'll keep in mind not to overtighten it.
Well originally it ran at 14V but it went to 12 and stayed there a few days. Then as I was going down the freeway the car started dying. Especially when I'd give it gas. It would bog down and wanna die. So I shut off all my lights and turned my gauge...
I suppose. The whole wire is fried though and the plastic part that was over it was kinda melted a little.
I took the alternator to get tested and they said it's no good....lame...
Ok so when I took off my alternator, I noticed the wire on the top was fried....like charred. The bolt holding it down looked all charred as well. Anyways I'm wondering what might have caused that and if maybe it's not my alternator that went bad. Can someone shed some light on this problem?
Thanks CRE much appreciated.
The alternator required one 14mm socket and a 14mm wrench (one to hold a nut while you're unscrewing the bolt) along with a 12mm socket.
Just thought I'd put that up for anyone else that might search and not find anything.
