i know this has been covered many times but i can't remember if i have to do alot of swapping. can i just take the 88 engine wiring harness and ecu out and put it in the 89 body with the engine? im trying to figure out if i wanna buy this body or not.
thank to all who will help :icon_bigg
if the mr2 has a 7 inch sealed beam and the supra has a 7 inch too (sounds bad lol):naughty:. i would think the unit would most likely fit, but trying to support the weight would be hard. but who knows until someone tries it.
yep it was. my step grandpa helped me build the motor and has been putting the wiring harness on and put the ground on the starter :aigo:. i asked him a few weeks ago if he did put the ground on the starter or not and said no all the grounds are in the right spots lol :3d_frown:.
so i have...
i have a 88 7mge 5 speed and i just rebuilt the motor. the car had been sitting for 4 years, i bought it 2 years ago and it had a spun bearing go figure :3d_frown:. so now the motor is back in and now it has no spark. it has a new coil and a new distributor, i hope its not the ignitor. i've...
that would have been nice to have when i was putting all my bolts on. its kinda hard to remember where what bolts go where after almost two years. good luck to ya. you're gonna need it
alright thats good. thanks again for the help and input. i'll see if i can work on it soon and let you know if it worked. always gotta debug these things when you rebuild lol.
Thanks, AJ. i'll have to look into it. He said he has all the grounds hooked up right but i doubt he did. Im hoping thats all it is. Is it going to ruin the relay not being ground right.
so the car has been sitting outside covered up for about a year and a half with no motor in it. finally got the motor in a couple weeks ago and i haven't had time to work on it, so my step fathers dad (had been helping me the whole time) has been working on it for me. calls me up and says it...
all you got to do is look inside the driver side door. it should tell you what your car weighed rolling of the factory line. my 88 targa is like 4060 or something like that i'd have to go look.
i don't know how much it would cost to have a shop rebuild your motor. i've been slowly rebuilding mine myself. the total amount that the shop i had do all the services was $732. i had them hot tank, bore, and surface the block. recondition the rods and pin fit and align them too. then surface...
$600 my ass lol i've been rebuilding my engine for the last 9 months. taking so long because it cost so much. i've spent about 3500 for it and i got almost everything new. even the head cuz of some dipsh*t spun a bunch of bearings and didn't get it fixed:3d_frown: clogged the oil pump. so yeah...
yeah those are pretty good vids. i've seen the second one before, don't get why the guy always has to spray. i wonder how that bmw drives probably like a bat out of hell lol.:naughty:
i know it will stick. i was just trying to say it will eventually flake off just like chrome does if you chrome plate aluminum or so i was told by the powder coating shop. i don't know if its true or not just giving him a heads up if he goes that way
you should get them powder coated. i don't know if they're aluminum or not if they are then don't get them powder coated. it will stick to them but, not for very many years:nono:
i would just go down to the local exhaust shop and let them make one for you. here where i live it cost about $140 for all the piping and labor. plus you can put whatever muffler you want. don't go with pacesetter, theres other ways to get a good exhaust for your money. you can buy a muffler...
