    Under hood insulation

    Yeah... I agree, if it's in bad shape and dirty, take it off. I had a '67 Pontiac Catalina (Gunboat on Wheels), and the a/c pump froze while I was driving, friction caused the belt to burn, in turn setting the underhood insulation on fire. That definately resulted in bubbled paint... :-)
