Well so far I think most of my questions have been a bit vague, but I have an easy one for you guys this time!
Oil pan (at the drain bolt) is leaking, should I use a rubber washer, or a copper one?
I've had a bunch of people on both sides of the issue, so I figured I would see what you guys say.
Alright :) Sounds good, thank you very much.
So as for a parts-list, is there anything else I should look into aside from these?
PCV Hoses
Valve Stems
Valve Cover Gaskets
7M-GTE Stock turbo
Tools I'm pretty set, I can borrow just about anything you can imagine tool-wise from my grandfather or my uncle.
Valve Stems 35-45$
Valve Cover Gaskets ?$ - ?$
PCV hoses ?$ - ?$
What would I need to remove the head for? if there are any reasons?
(Not being lazy, I just...
I don't have a firm grasp on car mechanics, I'm good with computers and it feels similar enough that I've been fine doing all my own repairs.
But I'm not sure what parts I need
I've read through this, and also bumped it to see what the poster did.
But I have the exact same problems, and I'm almost certain it's not a BHG (yet at least  )
But I was curious how much it would cost to replace the valves and anything else that would be causing white smoke at start...
Any update?
I have the exact same problem and I'm trying to get some rough estimates on how much it's going to cost to repair it myself, and I'm not much of a mechanic either but I can figure it out.
It's not just in the mornings, but it isn't consistent.
It always does it in the mornings, but then sometimes it'll do it during the day also (After having already been started that morning)
I was wondering if there is anywhere that we can order halo flip up headlights for mk3 supra's? All I can find is projector head lights
and I was wondering what the difference is between these two projector lights...
Couldn't believe he would use Fred Meyer oil for such a beautiful car...
It was indeed low coolant, for some reason I was performing under the impression that my excess hose just ran straight out of the radiator to the ground, and I literally have no idea why that was.
Filled up my overflow...
Glad you enjoyed it, I still can't believe I own one.
and yes, my dog was very interested in trying to help with the oil change, heh.
Thank goodness, I was hoping it was just a wiring problem. :) Thank you
Alright, doesn't sound too bad.
Sounds more like a bit of fun to me! :)
Thanks for your help, sighing heavily in relief that it isn't a blown headgasket
This'll be a slow build up, I'm just about to turn twenty-one and I've been living on my own paycheck to paycheck since I was seventeen.
But I'll do what I can as fast as I can, and hopefully there will be very few problems in between!
Some Context(You can skip it if you want):
I lost my father...
Yea, that was my inner conflict.
I'll take your word for it, thank you. :)
I'll check the wiring out when I get around to changing out the sound system, which will hopefully be quite soon (That'll mean things are going my way a bit more ;D) since it's not a huge issue for me, I have long arms.
Shhhh, don't even talk about it. D:
I did not add any into an overflow bottle because (I can't remember why) I was under the impression that I had no overflow bottle and the overflow tube went straight to the ground.
But now that I think about it I really had nothing to put me under that...
At first I was terrified I had a blown headgasket (Really not in a financial position to fix one) but after a bit of searching apparently white smoke for a blown headgasket persists after start-up
So I thought it might have been when the kid at the Gas Station hit Premium rather than super...
So for some context:
I did a complete oil change right before this happened, so maybe that had something to do it.
The kid who sold me it was using Fred Meyer oil and I wasn't going to stand for that, changed it for Castrol GTX
I also changed the Oil Filter
Then this light came on sometime the...
