best way to heat my pistons to 140*?

either way be careful not to burn yourself...170* is more than enough to scald. coffee makers use 150* warmers.

Turbo drips oil but not from return lines

I'm still trying to figure out how, if at all, i can delete the general section thread. I realized that it is likely the topic is better posted here than there but it doesnt matter because no one can seem to say yes or no. I just didnt want to go out and swap them if someone knew for sure this...

Turbo drips oil but not from return lines

I picked up the JDM ct thats been gracing the floor of my storeroom for about 4 months and I realized that oil was dripping from the compresser inlet and exhaust outlet. Is this normal at all or does this mean i can throw out using it? Usually i expect that since the center cartridge is sealed...

Turbo leaks oil when its off the car??

Well I'm just asking if its normal for oil to drip from a turbo anywhere but from the oil tubes. I poured some oil into the return line and covered it and it poured through the compressor outlet and exhaust inlet again. Its dripping a LOT from the compressor and exhaust wheel and I was under the...

    Compared to an Evo

I dont knock the EVO's at all for performance but for an AWD I still like the 1998 STI coupe available in the islands. Thats just my preference in styling. And since the supras still sport the only production motors to truly be able to handle 2x the factory wheel horsepower...minimum......on...

    Compared to an Evo

IMHO The stock numbers on the EVO is like a 13.1 sec 1/4. The factory 235hp MK3 turbo auto ran a 14.7 in 89 and the 320hp MK4 turbo auto ran around a 13.4. So figure with 100 hp in mods you should be knockin on 13.5-13.7. Another 50-75 hp and you should match or beat a factory EVO. If youre...

    Opinions on my options

Ok little update. Just to make sure all the possibilities were taken care of I drained the oil and put in 3 quarts of 5-30 and 1 quart Dextron 3 ATF. I ran it for 15 minutes...much to my neighbors displeasure....it looked like an exxon refinery. I revved the engine good a few times and after the...

    Opinions on my options

The 54 is the smallest model BOSS turbo and there by also (I assume) the fastest spooling. It is however a 500hp turbo not a 400+ so since it is not ball bearing then it would tend to spool slower than the Lightning. I am strongly considering the lightning and i have talked to Jon before. I also...

    Opinions on my options

I actually looked at that one too, I just forgot to list it :icon_bigg I was looking hard at that one. I already PMed Jon at MDC about what he knew bout my ill fated turbo. He says it is likely to be oil seals which seconds my thoughts. Even though I can pick up the modded CT for ~$700 i think...

    Opinions on my options

Ok for starters the car currently sports a freshly built (12000 miles) jdm, stock bore longblock with original factory internals and a modified CT-26 running a 62-1 compressor wheel. My engine mod list is as follows: LIPP LEXAFM body LIPP turbo elbow custom 3inch exhaust rps blue plate...
