I miss the good old days

I've been signed up on SF since about 09, and don't honestly remember when I signed up here, I think it was when I met a local MK3 guy who told me about this site, but I mostly lurk due to most information being available through searching. Another big thing that keeps me as a lurker is being a...

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

Forgot to post the other day but I got the valve stem seals done in the head. Took a little while at first, but once I got in the groove of things it went fairly quick. Also some parts showed up and I ordered some more parts as well. Going to go out and get some de-greaser and clean the head...

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

The block really wasn't hurt too bad this time since it was such a sort run time, and my NPR pistons from the last rebuild held up so I didn't need to much machine work. Getting Cylinders honed New piston rings for the NPR pistons rods resized ARP rod bolts Brand new oil pump, and I'm going to...

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

The reason mine was killed so fast was simply human error, like a lot of 7m's. In my rushing I completely forgot to clean, or replace the oil cooler after blowing apart my main bearing. Obviously metal shavings and general contaminates will still be in that oil cooler. Within 1,000 miles some of...

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

I'm on NPR's sadly. They are cheap and nothing broke, yet. At the time I spun the rod bearing I was running an open bic performance DDP, some hard pipes, intake, stock turbo hitting fuel cut, but I was on 3.73 gears. Felt really slow compared to the 57 trim/ 550/ lex maf set up and even that...

    My 89 HKS Supra build

I've been considering that as well, I've seen a few A70's with different color trim from the body color. Usually looks pretty good IMO but i thought a CF wrap would be a nice touch.

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

We are only young and dumb once! I did break in the motor, sorta. About 500-600 miles before I rolled into it too much but I definitely was way to hard on her way to early. Dumping all this money into it a second time so quickly really opened my eyes. Needless to say after she is done it will be...

    My 89 HKS Supra build

Great thread man! I'm still on Supra 1 myself, but mine started similarly. Got it when I was 16-17 in Highschool took forever to find a rust free shell here in the mid atlantic.

My journey with my '91 Sunroof.

This thread is dedicated to the building and restoration of my 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo. Lets start with some background. I bought the car in early November of 2012 (10th or 11th I believe to be exact) I was the 3rd owner. I bought the car from Mechanicsburg, PA. The PO was the 2nd owner, he...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Well, blew my motor a week or so ago and decided to pull it today. Honestly wasn't as bad as I expected but obviously I've only began the process of getting it running again.

    The Small Questions Thread

Thanks for the info! Motor should be pretty strong, the motor was rebuild about 20,000 miles ago but some of the houses look like they were reused (half are nice half look old and brittle) so I'm going to go ahead and replace all the coolant houses and vacuum lines along with a compression test...

    Car Not Starting

I always charge a battery with it still connected so I don't think it would be a blown fuse. If I had to take a guess I would say starter. Mine did the same thing when it went.

    The Small Questions Thread

Gotcha, thanks! I've had the 57 trim on for about 4-5 months now and this FC problem has been plaguing me since. I'm even hitting it on days when it's over 100 degrees. Guess that means it's time for 550's and a TT fuel pump, was really hoping to give the motor a good once over (new belts, all...

    The Small Questions Thread

Hey guys, just a quick question. With my wastegate (driftmotion 11psi) I'm hitting fuel cut super hard. Shouldn't the wastegate be able to hold me at 11psi so i'm just under the cut? Don't have any major mods just basic stuff; 3" DM "Race" exhaust, BIC DDP, 57 Trim CT26, Apexi CAI, and 3" Boost...

    ffim discussion

Personally I could see a pretty decent demand for a "bolt on" FFIM. By that I mean usable on a otherwise stock car.

What did you pay for paint work?

Bought my car red, painted it white total cost right around $750 did the disassembling, sanding, and primer myself. Then dropped it off to actually get sprayed. Pretty happy for what I spent.
