The other day I went out to start my car and it would rev to about 1300 and then drop to 250 and then jump back up to 1300. I started unplugging sensors and nothing changed then I unplugged the MAF and it would idle. Would that mean that the MAF is bad?

I got an '89 N/A hardtop, 5 speed. What all Would have to be done to my motor? My drivetrain? Exhaust? ect... To add a stock turbo to my system. Im fairly new to the Supra life, I know the basics of the car, but basicly Im looking for more knowledge. Thanks for the Help.
