Hello,
I have an 87 turbo and the Boost, oil pressure and fuel gauges do not work.
It has a JDM engine, so maybe the oil pressure sender would be different?
As far as the fuel gauge goes, the "Low Fuel" light works, but the needle for the gauge is always at the empty mark. I tried the...
my boost, fuel and oil pressure do not work..i have a jdm engine that was swapped, and i bought the car this way
My boost guage just sits at 0, and fuel and oil pressure just stay all the way at the bottom.
That is really where it is the hardest, the downshift from x gear to 2nd. If it give the car some gas it goes in a little easier sometimes.
So do you guys road race your cars? Seems like it would be difficult trying to downshift into 2nd all the time.
i dont really think my synchros are going out, maybe i will just change the tranny fluid and see if that makes it easier.
It shifts a lot smoother when it is warmer outside though, thats for sure.
I was just wondering how easy you peoples supra's shift?
I guess I'm comparing my 87 supra turbo w/ jdm swapped tranny and engine ~45k miles to my 96 honda civic hx 5spd totally stock with 128k miles
The civic just shifts like butter, compared to my supra. I can be doing like 40mph and shift...
Hello,
Well I was at my girlfriends house, and when trying to leave...I started my car...and as it was getting ready to leave and turn my lights on and then it died.
so i tried to start it again and it just turns over and over and over and doesnt fire up.
So i unplugged the ground from...
I fixed the power steering.....a hose was kinked.....haha..
any other ideas on the guages? How can i test if they work?
PS. I found that adaptor...is that what I need to get the oil pressure guage working? for the 7mgte...
I did your method for the power steering. And it still whines.....how many times should I do that?
Also, i checked the 7.5A fuse, it was good. I checked the vacume hose from the turbo pressure sensor to whatever its called that it pluged into, and it seemed to be fine from that route. The...
hi,
I just finally got my car back this weekend, my dads toyota mechanic friend has had it for 6 months and didn't fix anything that I told him to.
first, it has a jdm 7mgte engine ~45k miles, 3" blitz nur spec exhaust, act lightweight flywheel, centerforce stage 3 clutch...but other then...
Yeah, I may just double check the tourqe.
I would eventually like to up the boost down the road, after i do injecters and sometype of fuel management and a few other things.
the jdm engine came with the cylinder pressure test and everything looks good and even.
I'd rather not replace the headgasket again already...it was done just 3,000 miles ago, along with the bolts. Think it would be good to just swap out the oem bolts for the arps, just doing a direct swap of the bolts only?
I dont mind doing a headgasket, i've done them on hondas, but i didnt...
Perfect....answers that i was looking for.
I'm obviously not looking to do anything crazy ATM, just wanted some info. I purchased my car, and they replaced the the JDM headgasket with an OEM headgasket which isn't what it seems like most people do here. Instead of tearing the engine apart...
is an OEM replacement headgasket stronger then the original? or no?
I realize i need tuning, fuel, etc etc.....but that really wasn't my question.
thanks for the serious replys though.
Yo,

Its a JDM 7MGTE, 45k miles, 3" Blitz turboback exhaust, ACT lightwight flywheel, centerforce stage3 clutch, kyb gr2 struts, eibach springs....i purchased the car this way.
