T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

I tacked my sleeve before installing the turbo. I'm still tuning but we got up to about 4k. You can hear it spooling but it never got into the positives. I'll have more info soon.

What problem(s) were you experienced that made you want to seal the compressor housing with RTV? Is this a typical procedure? I imagine you just pressurized the system and found it leaking there, but how bad was it? I've got the turbo in my car now and we're working on the MAFTPRO tune...

Understanding mainscale and identifying a tuning approach

Over the last few weeks after work I’ve been installing the standard upgrades into my 1990 Supra GTE. I’ve installed a Walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive AFPR, RC 660cc injectors and a new turbo. I’ll be running Speed Density with a GM 3Bar MAP and IAT sensor. I’ve wired in a MAFTPRO running version...

I'm not sure why more people aren't having the spacing issue with the actuator hitting the outlet piping of the turbine housing. The actuator housing would touch the silicone connector and it was not possible to get a clean fit which meant boost leaks to me if this was not fixed. With...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

yup, but it opens almost all the way and the escaping gasses can easily push it to fully open. It doesn't take nearly any force to move it the rest of the 20 degrees or so to open fully. We don't know if this will be an issue but since nothing about this turbo fits correctly we didn't have...

There are many reasons why this turbo is not a bolt-on turbo for our cars, so after all this work I'm really hoping it's going to be the right turbo for the car - and last awhile too. I'm holding hope out despite the issues we've all experienced, and while I have not run the car yet I'll surely...

There is no play that can be seen or felt by pushing it with my finger? Did yours move easily when you finally realized to try it? I also have not installed mine yet so there is the chance that this 'friction fit' gets loose once it gets heat cycled a few times. I will just tack it on or grub...

Paradox has taken great photos in this thread already that show exactly how the outer bushing moves up and down, changing the alignment of the flapper over the wastegate hole. I had thought that a small tack weld would accomplish the same thing. If it was not lined up exact when the tack was...

    What Happened to SupraSport?!?

I placed an order on June 6th with Supra Sport and have not had any communication to date with the company after the order. I have called several times and emailed them as asked on their website. I have had no response at all from the group. Is anyone in the know about the status of these...

http://www.suprasport.com/Turbo-install-breakdown_p_481.html# Which line (in the link above) will I need for an oil feed line? I'm trying to complete the parts for this T61 Oil Cooled Only Turbo. Currently I have the below selected as what I'll need to buy to hook up this turbo. Any other...

Right-on yeah I see what you mean. Is there any substantial benefit from going with the divorced waste gate pipe over the simple larger elbow? I already have a 3" down pipe and it would save me 200$. But if its really worth it...

That cutout you circled seems a bit oddly shaped, I'm not sure what would have created that. Looks like a rough torch cut out, but I don't have others to compare it to at the moment. The e-bay photo has the same shape cut-out visible in the stock photos. Is the sharp piece you circled able to...

I purchased this turbo last night and today I scoured all 43 pages of this thread and took notes to summarize the issues I’ll encounter. I had a few questions after reviewing all of the great material here in this thread. 1. One question I don’t feel was answered completely has to...

    Help on deciding on clutch...

I run a one piece aluminum flywheel and one of the good ebay 6-pucks. I'll be running a MAFTPRO and 680's soon so i'll see if it holds up. I love it now though.

    maf translator & MAFT-PRO questions

What I had indented to question was the difference between going with a GM 2-Bar MAP Sensor and an GM 3-Bar SD setup. If going Speed Density it's own tuning path with the ability to control the VE tables. Great info about the AEM WB. That is great news - thanks. Feeling a lot better now...

    Help on deciding on clutch...

For maintaining any sort of daily drive ability I've found that the 6 pucks work well, but upwards of 600HP they may not all hold. I have to say that trying to slip my 6puck in traffic is not my favorite thing to do, but when you like to use your car often and in town it is a better case...

Paradox - it may help to try this procedure to get a solid figure on the pressure required to open the wastegate as well as to verify the correct function of the wastegate and ensure there are no physical restrictions. I know you had said previously there was a design flaw you identified and we...
