If the 5 spokes are the same offset as sawblades, I'd go with the 5/8". 1" might kick the wheel out too far past the fenderwell.

I'm running a 5/8" spacer on the back of my 87 with stock sawblades.
That worked out really well. The spacers I picked up and the kind with the wheel studs in an aluminium spacer. They aren't hub centric, but so far, no ill effects from it. I'll see if I can find the link to where I got them...
