If you're buying a JDM motor think about these things:
-Pulling it completely apart and replacing...well as much as you can
-Make SURE you replace the Oil pressure sensor with a USDM one, ask me how I know
-Get a MHG, ARP studs, a tube or two of Toyota black seal maker, a gasket kit, new...
Holy Crap Lazurus thread.....I ended up getting a spool of wire and some different sized terminal ends and replacing many of the original grounds....And had plenty of material to make others in the future. Cost: <$10
I replaced the oil guage (thanks Shaef) I replaced the sensor with a new one. I rerouted the lines, I know I have good flow and volume. But still NO indication during cranking........WTF!!!!!! Any ideas?
Well my old one was caput any how....Shaef if giving me a newish one tommorrow. I'm hoping it's in one piece cause I'd rather perform an appendectomy with a dirty spoon than deal with assembly of such parts.....But, can you post a pic of the parts you have soon I might see where mine failed?
I pulled my cluster out to replace my oil press guage. And since it's out I was wondering, before reinstall, if there's any mods I should do, be aware of, be careful of. I don't plan on doing this again if I can help it so any ideas or suggestions will help. Thanks, Eric
Yeah, I pull the batt out completely and leave it on the charger every time major work go into progress. Is there anything I need to know about pulling the cluster to get the guage out? Do I have to go through Toyota to get the guage or will a used one be okay? How much do they go for? After...
