Since you have a MK3 you can only choose the universal harness, and yes: you have to solder it in. Should be not a problem if you are experienced in soldering.

Disconect the FCD, and all other tuning and start from the really beginning. If you are sure there are no problems then you can hook up your FCD again. I recommend an HKS FCD over Lex-Riemer upgrade by far. Lex-AFM is about 25% bigger than stock, the 550s are about 25% bigger...
