Is it easier to install the head with studs or bolts? I'm changing the head gasket myself and I would like it to be as easy as possible when reinstalling.

Today I was talking to a toyota parts rep. He told me I could probably prepare the block myself for a metal head gasket. How hard is this to do? Has anyone prepared their own block? He said you just have to prepare the suface with hand lapping tools? Has onyone done this?

To use a HKS bead type head gasket. Do you usually have to mill the block to use these?

Take a look at the pic. The hose off the back of the block goes into this part attached to the firewall. This isn't my motor either.
