new here and enjoy my new found love!

Welcome to SM. Time and money, time and money... to keep a MKIII Supra running. But worth the effort. I grin like a kid busting his first nut every time I drive mine.

    My second MKIII

Welcome to SM. Similar story here. After 3rd head gasket on my first MKIII (with not-well-thought-out mods), I walked away in disgust. Couldn't get it outta my head, so I came back a couple of years ago, this time with a 1JZ swap for greater reliability. Oh, and I have learned a thing or two...

    Supra owner once again

Welcome to SM. I'm on my 2nd MKIII after a few years away. Never did get to a MKIV, much as I wanted to. It is tough to stop thinking about these cars...

Hatch struts: what am I doing wrong?

Same struts? The Stabilus ones? If so, I'll call my brother to come over & do some lifting. Worth a shot, I suppose. I was working hatch end first, and could NOT get the bottom of those suckers anywhere near the mounting holes. Thanks.

Hatch struts: what am I doing wrong?

Ordered new hatch struts from Driftmotion. Stabilus Lift-o-mat, part #SG229017. Used the search features here & on several other sites, as well as Google, etc. I see tons of info on how to get the struts out. That actually seemed pretty straightforward, even if it was involved & time...

Taillight Mod - What do you think?

I get the aesthetics you're going for, but the matte finish looks odd. No harm in trying, though. Personally, the taillights on the MKIII are so large that any mod only serves to bring more attention to them, IMHO. My biggest concern would be for safety. Never mind how bright the LED's are...

so what makes a bov louder??

You beat me to it, dagnabbit. I actually did that to my '90 Turbo back in the days when hardly anyone had video cameras. It was funny for about 5 minutes, then had to go. lol

    Targa top/How I love it

Just before I purchased my current Supra on New Year's Eve in 2009, I had come in 2nd in an eBay auction for a very nice looking '90 Turbo Targa. Just like my first Supra, but with that added Targa goodness. I was so disappointed that I sent the seller an e-mail (we'd been in touch a LOT...

I'm back on the road, pics inc

That's one tastefully gorgeous MKIII. Glad you've got it back on the road. Would be a shame to deprive your local area of such beauty on the roads.

    New wheels & suspension achieved.

TYVM! That is the factory teal. Car had been resprayed once when I got it, and the respray was close, but slightly darker. When I had the paint & body work done last year, I went back to the factory teal.

    Have problem and need advice!

Nothing wrong with having 2 cars. I've put a ton of cash into my MKIII 1JZ, and it looks nearly brand new now. Makes me paranoid (since I was hit twice in the first 6 months of ownership) to let it out of the garage. But I do, because I love to drive it. I didn't buy it to polish it with...

    Struts

In my first Supra, I had TEMS, so I kept the Tokico shocks. My current Supra does not have TEMS, so I just installed Bilsteins & Eibach springs. (It was on busted KYB's and Intrax springs, and actually riding way too low) Liking the look & feel so far, only time will tell if that feeling...

    New wheels & suspension achieved.

Thanks, man. As for the lug nuts, I addressed it in the original post, but I'll expand on it. The Supra had what I imagine are OEM or OEM style lug nuts previously. The kind with the nearly flat bottoms. When I decided to swap those 5Zigens on, it never crossed my mind to think of the lug...

    New wheels & suspension achieved.

Bingo. Thanks. As for it looking dumb, it looked way dumber when I had to come to a complete STOP, then crawl over every speed bump I encountered in an effort not to rip that HKS grapefruit launcher right off the tail end of my exhaust. (That's also going to be replaced with something far...

    New wheels & suspension achieved.

Hi guys. Been a while since I posted anything, although I do browse from time to time. When I got my '92 1JZ, the suspension was in desperate need of an overhaul- sat way too low, there was no dampening or rebound of any kind going on, etc. Thanks to 2 people deciding to crash into the car...

    2012 MINI Cooper S Coupé

My Miata was a '90 with the optional hard top. So yeah, that security was there when I needed it. And I agree they looked far better with the hard top on. But of course, back then the hard top was not retractable, so you had to haul that gigantic turtle shell in & out of the garage to use it...

    2012 MINI Cooper S Coupé

Yeah, even within the MINI community, this car's appearance is rather polarizing. Folks tend to have strong feeling, whether positive or negative. And that's OK. One thing most people agree on is that it looks a lot better in person.

    2012 MINI Cooper S Coupé

I'm a long time Mini/MINI enthusiast. Back in 2008, I traded in my 2nd new MINI Cooper S for my current daily driver, a Mazdaspeed3. Love the MS3, but I just get automotive wanderlust every few years, and it's time to move on. Luckily for me, after getting larger (Clubman) & larger...

    For Toyota lovers

That right there is pure, boner-inducing, automotive porn. I had no idea what those cars went for when sold, and frankly, $650k is surprisingly high. Luckily for me, I already own a 2000GT. In GT5. Close as I'll ever get without winning the Lotto.
