Same struts? The Stabilus ones? If so, I'll call my brother to come over & do some lifting. Worth a shot, I suppose. I was working hatch end first, and could NOT get the bottom of those suckers anywhere near the mounting holes. Thanks.

Ordered new hatch struts from Driftmotion. Stabilus Lift-o-mat, part #SG229017. Used the search features here & on several other sites, as well as Google, etc. I see tons of info on how to get the struts out. That actually seemed pretty straightforward, even if it was involved & time...

I get the aesthetics you're going for, but the matte finish looks odd. No harm in trying, though. Personally, the taillights on the MKIII are so large that any mod only serves to bring more attention to them, IMHO. My biggest concern would be for safety. Never mind how bright the LED's are...

TYVM! That is the factory teal. Car had been resprayed once when I got it, and the respray was close, but slightly darker. When I had the paint & body work done last year, I went back to the factory teal.

In my first Supra, I had TEMS, so I kept the Tokico shocks. My current Supra does not have TEMS, so I just installed Bilsteins & Eibach springs. (It was on busted KYB's and Intrax springs, and actually riding way too low) Liking the look & feel so far, only time will tell if that feeling...

My Miata was a '90 with the optional hard top. So yeah, that security was there when I needed it. And I agree they looked far better with the hard top on. But of course, back then the hard top was not retractable, so you had to haul that gigantic turtle shell in & out of the garage to use it...

Yeah, even within the MINI community, this car's appearance is rather polarizing. Folks tend to have strong feeling, whether positive or negative. And that's OK. One thing most people agree on is that it looks a lot better in person.
