i remember replacing the pivot arm with shorter rods --i can't remember the rod size-- but retaining the two white plastic ends. you will have to adjust the bottom adjusting screw almost all the way out --this will keep your lamp from facing downward.

that box is made out of 16g sheet metal. that is what i used long time ago. problem with the sheet metal is that it will flex underneath and not very sturdy.
i upgraded to a three layer fiberglass from my old set up --the 16g sheet metal. it was more sturdy and easy to to make adjustment...
i remember gutting out my cc back in the days and paired it w/ an old school hks catback and header. surely felt that top end power.
my header was a pacesetter and i abused that sucker everyday.....finally blew a hg but never cracked that header.
coil-overs, wilwood big brake, lightened flywheel, aluminum one piece drive shaft, light weight rims, new complete bushings, catback exhaust, cai.

not only it gives better cooling to the radiator, it also act as a splash shield. the under tray i have is made out of 16 gauge sheet metal.

there isn't any kit for these lights that you can buy anywhere that's why the price is firm. the entire kit can take up to two weeks to make.
