    Buying a cheap AW11 MR2 for fun

I bought an 86 just before Christmas and immediately put it under the knife. lol I want to make sure everything is up to par so, it has been two feet in the air on jack stands for about two weeks. lol Waiting on brake parts atm. 200k miles and it runs good with great oil pressure and...

What ever you do, make sure you follow all the TSRM torque sequences. Also check your valve clearences before wrapping it all up.

    Boost variation in different climates

I was on my way home from Dayton (75miles away) the other night and had my Profec BII set to LO which I have at about 15% (8 psi with controllable quick response "DD mode"). Well I got the the S I75 bridge and it was clear. My oil pressure was making a noticable climb on my gauge by now...

    HELP no power after rebuild

From here, I would investigate the above problems and fix them. Take your time and don't get stressed. It only makes the chance of mistakes increase. Check for codes, adjust TPS per TSRM. Find possible vacuum leak. And most importantly find out why it's overheating. Is the radiator...

    frozen wastegate actuator

Well that answered my next question lol. Of course you'd likely be hitting fuel cut with a boost leak.. If I could find my camera i'd show you where the wastegate arm on the bottom of the turbo (the swinging flap) is supposed to be when closed... You also might be able to see the wastegate...

    frozen wastegate actuator

I wastegate spring is pretty stout and I'm not to sure that it would get stuck open like you discribe. I could be wrong though. Anyway, if you're running the stock bpv, remove it and try blowing through it. If you can blow through both sides, then it aiding in your boost deficiency.

    Tie vs. VW GTI Turbo

My buddy has a jetta 1.8t that has intake, full 3", fmic, and REVO tuned to something like 22psi on his K03 turbo. Yeah stupid because the motor just eats the boost up in this setup. Well we raced from a 40ish roll and I had him by 3+ cars by 110 (didn't really look back), hitting fuel cut...

    My new daily

Great car imho. I get to drive these things all the time, new and used, since I work at Honda. I think they have plenty of power for what it is (come on it's just a civic). It's nice to see you opted for the 2 extra doors. Makes for a nice little seden. Hope it treats you well and...

is there a difference between NA throttle body gasket and turbo?

hah Jdub the reason I ask is because I had a TB gasket from a cheap set that I used after my original BHG repair. It was like two thin pieces of metal with some viton looking stuf between them and on places on the outsides. IIRC it was making a really loud whistling sound when i started it (vac...

Another "What is this gasket" thread <SOLVED>

It looks like the gasket that goes on the back side of the front timing cover (says 7MGTE on it). If you've never looked close enough you wouldn't even know there is one there.
