When I rebuilt my 7M harness I used 16ga wire for all signal wires to sensors and ground. If I had to do again I would go with 18ga as I had some difficulty installing the larger wire in some of the terminals and connector housings.
I used 12ga for the main power wire. Comes off the B1...

That is a really good question. As we all know the Cressida and non-turbo supra shared the same 7m-ge motor. But they had different intake manifolds. The cressy had a similiar intake as the gte whereas the supra n/a had the y-pipe with ACIS. So there really was no advantage production wise...
Thanks for the reply. That's a really good idea. That would solve the one input where engine reaches 4200 rpm. I would still need some other way to capture the TPS signal and activate the switch according to the throttle angle. I found this msd window switch...
