Mine is the Tanabe Medallion but I'm not sure if it's the hyper medallion. The downpipe does not go Down far enough making the piping hit the foorboard and it his the rear end support. I am at the muffler shop getting it modified. Bolt on my *ss!
I have a 1987 Turbo. I installed a Tanabe medalion Exhaust bolted to a LIPP elbow and the down pipe is touching the flooboard near the speedometer cable and at the rear end cross member. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it?
My car has California emissions so maybe that's why it has the bracket? I don't recall the manufacturer of the downpipe. It has a sort of corrugated flex section kinda line those you see on an 18 wheeler exhaust. Thanks for your help! One last thing. Did you use the factory mounts?
I am installing a LIPP cast stainless turbo elbow with a 3 inch opening and a full 3 inch downpipe. The od of flange for the downpipe is about 1/2 " larger than the elbow's od. This leaves about 5/32" of the flange for the gasket sealing surface NOT including the flanged part of the piping that...
I replaced the cam position sensor external oring since it was leaking. The inner seal isnt showing sighns of leaking but I wonder if I should replace it since its 27 urs old, or not. The car haS 47k miles
CYFi6 you are right as to the delima and what I was thinking of doing but after hearing what you and others are saying about having to remove the turbo anyway it makes me think I would be just as well off to keep the factory lines and save the money that would have been spent on quality soft lines.
When removing my turbo oil piping it was apparent the reason it caint be removed without removing the turbo is because there are studs on both flanged ends. I was thinking of removing the studs on the engine side and replacing them with bolts. The gasket could be held in place with rtv or a thin...
If I'm looking at a manual that is refering to locating a specific pin on a connector are they looking at it from what I would call the back? In other words looking at the connector while pluged in OR while looking at the connector as though it where unpluged from the other side?
thanks so much! i've had the car for a year but haven't had much time too do much with it. It has 42K miles on it and runs very well. I've cleaned it up some, added Gates blue timing and drive belts and all front engine seals. BTW what does the slide do?
I pulled the passenger seat and low and behold I found the doodad that goes on the drivers side under the seat! Its a bracket that goes thru (but slides thru not bolted to) the seat belt reciever. im not sure what it does but at least part of the mystery is solved but I need the bolt cover.
