    No vacuum at throttle body

Thanks for the replies. The only thing I can imagine is the hardline between the FPU VSV and the bung where the stock FPR vac line attaches is somehow plugged. There is strong vaccum into and out of the FPU VSV, but not at the other end of the line at the FPR. So what does the FPU VSV...

    No vacuum at throttle body

I had another FPU VSV laying around so I hooked it up...no change. There is strong vacuum going in and out of the FPU VSV because it's on the larger hardline. It's the small hardline (and all the vacuum lines in red) that have no vacuum. Thanks for the help; keep 'em coming!

    Wideband readings at idle

I just started another thread after doing some more investigation. The stock FPR is hooked to the same source as the charcoal canister (BVSV) and the EGR and certainly it should see vacuum/boost.

    No vacuum at throttle body

I was checking my fuel pressure and found that there was no vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator. I started poking around and found there is no vacuum to any of the locations marked here in red: Of the two vacuum hardlines that run along the intake manifold, everything feeding off the...

    Wideband readings at idle

Haven't done that yet. I sure wish these cars had OBD-II. I have a $90 OBD-II reader that I can hook up between my 4Runner's OBD-II port and either a laptop or a PDA and read all of the engine parameters (including short term and long term fuel trim). I think the Vf reading on the Supra will...

    Wideband readings at idle

Same here. When it stays at 14.7:1 the idle is Lexus smooth. As soon as it goes into the low-15s at idle, you can hear the lean idle pop. Sounds like this is pretty normal but my O2 sensor has 150,000 miles on it and is probably overdue to be changed. While checking my fuel pressure I...

    Wideband readings at idle

My A/F ratio at idle bounces between about 14.6 and 15.3. When it does reach the lower-15s the engine gets a little rougher and starts making the typical lean idle pop sound. I can add fuel with the S-AFC or turn up the fuel pressure, but eventually the ECU just subtracts out the fuel I added...

New parts = New thread :) lots of pics!

You have done an amazing job with the engine bay! Is that a Reg Reimer adjustable fuel pressure regulator I see? My engine bay looks busy with all the stuff I added--I have one of Reg's AFPRs sitting at home that I am now tempted to install. I've heard they had issues though. (???)

I need a basis for comparison.. on stock oil/psi gauge

Both before and after my rebuild (with a new unmodified Toyota oil pump) my car runs 60 psi on a cold start-up, 40 psi at a 3,000 RPM cruise and 19 psi at a hot idle. You can see it IN THIS VIDEO. I think the stock oil pressure blow-off is set at 60 psi, not 40.

    Help me paint my wheels!

The "other" forum (SF) is down right now, so I can't post the link. Do a search under my name for "wheel refinish" and you'll find a complete write-up with pics. Ken

    Wide band kits

I am very pleased with my PLX M-300. It is mounted on the steering column so it can be seen at a quick glance and does not block any other gauges. It sort-of blends in with the rest of the interior. My only complaint is the unit has four digits so it can read "Rich" and "Lean", (for below...

    4pot Caliper Question

I sure wish there was a cheap and easy way to do this, my 2000 4Runner uses massive 4-pot calipers that will fit under no less than a 16" wheel...

    Paddlenbike's buildup video

Thanks! Nope, no BHG...a couple of weeks ago was the Supra's first trip down the strip with a newly rebuilt engine. Unfortunately I am having problems with my clutch. It either got contaminated or it was a $500 clutch that was only good for 800 miles. It was slipping *way* more than my...
