I have the same problem... mine started 4 months ago... I ignored it, than just recently my clutch starts slipping when accelerating. Being that my car has 196,xxx miles. Its maybe time to change clutch and possible tranny rebuild.
So if you have a high mileage car, maybe consider replacing...
