I drove the car again to try to see when it actually starts to act up. On a cold starts it seems to be fine and continues to drive ok until it warms up. It was still ok until I accelerated fast and boosted. At a stop sign the car died, i was able to immediately re-start it. Once warmed up it...
The connector on the cps side was messed up so i replaced it by soldering in a new one, the wires and connector on the car side look worn out, I'm not sure how I would test them though.
I did jump E1 and T to check the timing, the check engine light flashes when I do that, but otherwise the check engine light is not on at all. There are no codes stored as the check engine light flashes steadily.
I just finished adjusting my valve clearances and while I was driving, my car almost stalled then came back, then I noticed it was missing really bad and it started to idle at higher rpms. When I got home i checked the timing and found it to be past 15 deg. I restarted the car and the timing...
So after doing some research and asking around, my best guess is that the head gasket was installed incorrectly. I'm going to pull the head tomorrow, I'll post what I find. I thought about getting the BHG tester but the fact that a leak down test forces air into the radiator tells me something...
There doest seem to be any of the tell tale signs, I have tried burping the cooling system by jacking up the car and letting it run with the heater on but the waterfall noise always came back (not sure if it ever entirely went away). The car seems to run great, it has only overheated once on me...
My supra has been doing things that made me think I'v had a head gasket problem for a while now, I always seem to have air in the system (waterfall noise) and sometimes my coolant level drops really low. I decided to do a compression and leakdown test. My compression results were...
what do you mean?
edit: I guess I should say, I don't see any other fittings coming off of the manifold besides the break booster line, and maybe the fuel pressure regulator line.
thanks for showing it, ya i dont seem to have that T fitting. Is it ok to use the big line that goes to the break booster? The T fitting that came with the gauge obviously wouldnt work with that, is it ok to use a diff fitting?
