    Throw out bearing kaboom

My throw out bearing came apart once, because I had one washer in the wrong spot.

I think my car will have code 52 forever!

Ok, I got 'er dicked this time! I took a look at my ecu plugs, and one of the ks wires came half way de-pinned. I shoved it back in with a pair of needle nose pliers and went for a drive. The cel hasn't come on since.

I think my car will have code 52 forever!

I'm seriously bumming right now, I thought I finally had it fixed last night. Think I'll get drunk.

I meant the ecu. The last thing in line to check.

I think my car will have code 52 forever!

DAMN IT!!! I took the car out a few hours ago and when I got to the street and hit 2nd gear, it threw code 52. But, I ran into a aquaintance soon after and he can hook me up with a computer next Friday for $150 that I can try before I buy. So, I guess we'll see what happens in a...

    Fearing the worst.

...and I'm releived! I really didn't want to pull the engine this winter for a re-ring. So now I guess I need to start buying parts so I can tune, (turbo, fuel, engine management). jdub, what would be a good set up for 450 rwhp?

I did that first, and the results were great. jdub wanted a compression test to verify the leakdown test results.

    Compression test results, #1. 155psi #2. 155psi #3. 155psi #4. 158psi #5. 160psi #6. 158psi I also put my pcv system back to stock. Now if I can get code 52 taken care of, I'll be dialed, for now.

I'll try and run that compression test this weekend, then I'll post back. I'll also try and get my pcv pipe fixed. Thanks for hanging in there with me jdub, I appreciate all your wisdom! I've built several engines with great success, but this just goes to show, I don't know it all.

Now that I think about it, I agree. Theres no way the pcv system will pull oil. But, the leak-down test confirms the rings are good. The crank case was breathing freely,(not under vacuum, but breathing freely), so where did the oil come from? Gotta be the turbo.

    Fearing the worst.

Because of the baffles in the valve covers?

Oil in#1 cylinder + timing belt!!!!!!!

Maybe there was oil in the sparkplug valley from a leaky valve cover and when you removed the plug, the oil ran into the cylinder.

I'm not too worried about the turbo, if it's bad, just a good excuse to get my boss 57 trim.:naughty: I believe you on the pcv system, I will weld the nipples back on the pcv pipe and hook it up. I originaly bypassed the valve covers because Total Seal claimed that with the low crankcase...
