The KYB GR2s would be not alot more stiff than stock. The AGX series would be more appropriate with an H&R spring. Maybe someone can lobby KYB to start producing an AGX series shock package for the MKIII.

I have always liked Bronze finish, it doesn't even look too bad on a White car. I like to be a little more ostentatious though. I might go with Green or Orange when I get a nice set of wheels.
