Its a 12-point 14 mm socket. Make sure you loosen them in the correct sequence and in multiple passes. Then remove the stud and washers.

I almost said it is a 1/2" 12 pt socket, but then I remembered that was for a 2jzgte, it's been quite some time since I put in 7m ARP head studs, and Im not 100% sure I miss it! lol.

Let us know what you find!

Head studs are all that's in my way right now. They are tight as hell! Tomorrow I'm going to find a allen head socket that can fit the inverted hex on the studs. Then it should be out!!!

Since I'm low on cash right now, I can't afford a bottom end rebuild. So I'm thinking of replacing that piston and the MHG (if needed).

If you guys feel I should go another route let me know! Don't hesitate

Thanks, Mike

Anything else special about that engine? Might be worth looking at a whole motor. But your method will work to get it on the road, isn't the best but it works!

Well I love the fact that it has 73K on it! All the cars I've ever owned had WELL over 100K. The previous owner put some money into it. Such as upgrading to a AFPR, bigger oil lines, lexus AFM, 550 injectors. But that could all be easily switched over if I opted that route.

Honestly, for this upcoming year i just want to get it running, and MAYYYBE next winter, or the winter after that I'll rebuild or go with a jz motor.

Got the motor out the other day! Thinking it'll be more time effective and cheaper if I could use my GE block. It's all disassembled. I'd have to get it honed and fitted with new pistons. My question is would it be OK to use my GE block with the GTE head and electronics???

If you feel comfortable drilling and taping holes, or paying someone too, you can do it.

Drill/tap 2 knock sensors.
Driftmotion oil line kit with either stock drain drilled out or bung welded to pan.

Yeahh I just saw the differences in the blocks. Decided to not go that route. Motors been out for some time, I've been busy with school though. So my progress is very sluggish lol. Now that the motor and tranny are out, they don't want to separate! Always something...

Any suggestions on how to get then separated?? Do I have to take the flywheel off???
