May I suggest starting out by:

1. Find out how much gap you have in your current setup by finding the distance between your current wheels and the innermost portion of the fender lip.

2 use this calculator http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp. plug in the specs of your current and future setup to find out if your future setup will fit.

3. If u find out your future wheels don't fit, u could either roll your fenders or go with a different wheels setup, then repeat step 2.

it says 6mm less inner clearance and extended 20mm. the car is stock ride height right now but when i lower it, im gonna use the eibach pro kit and prolly run a 245/35. im just trying to see because they dont make the rims anymore and i found some. but i cant look at the car right now due to being put up for winter.

8+30 will be good up front, but sunk in at the rear

they do have a 19x9.5 +25 offset i could get for the rear. im willing to roll the fenders if i have to, do you think it would sit pretty flush for the most part?

It will be about 1/2" from flush

I'm 18x9.5+18, and it's completely flush with less then a finger gap.. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Dylan,

In all fairness and respect, you and I have varying definitions of "flush." My "flush" is that the wheel and the fender are on the same vertical plane.

In the picture below, your rear wheel and the fender are not on the same vertical plane.

This is my idea of "flush." (At least practically close to it.) The wheel and the fender are on the same vertical plane.

Rodel,

You hit the nail on the head with suspension first. Been planning that but haven't got my R154 and motor back in yet to clear some working room in the garage. Plans are to change all chassis bushings, change shocks/springs/mounts, sway bar links, have it frame racked/measured/and pulled if needed, as well as aligned after all that to get it sitting closest to where I want it. Had a private sponsor offer to purchase wheels so I needed to understand what I'm getting into before the cat is out of the bag.

I'm ok not being flush, but the idea for wider tires is very appealing do to the added grip on a hard launch. I will definitely be driving this car like I stole it :evil2: so I'm thinking less fender clearance issues would be a smarter path.

Off topic a bit, but I'm just waiting on a flywheel and some various R154 hardware so I can drop the motor and transmission back in on top of new mounts. Then the real fun begins with suspension and wiring in my Megasquirt-III. If all goes well, my sponsor may drop the money on the wheels in the next month and a half.

Thank you for all the useful input.:icon_bigg

Lol they were +38 back then.. Spacers dropped them to +18, they are literally flush now (by your standards).

Hehehe. Let's see some updated pics!

yeah, I said I'd take a few more when you told me to dry the car next time, haha.

The issue or my excuse is that the 245/40/18 on that 9.5 looks pretty lame even though the drop is decent. I'm thinking a 255 wouldn't be enough of a difference, so maybe 265? And the front 8.5s could use a 235 versus the current 225.

I havent seen him mention anything about camber adjustments or fender rolling. However, the OP seems to be running 225 not too sure if its because with that wheel size a 245 rubs? So thats probably the only thing you need answered.

That's why I was asking. I prefer to run tires that are spec for the rim width for best grip. No offense.

Why not move your current 245s at the rear and move them to the front...then get 265s for the rear as u mentioned?
